And later this week, I hope to get in the '90 Oberto/ '82 Atlas Van Lines, and one for myself, the '80 Budweiser Humpback (which is going to be an AWESOME kit!)

Very cool you are doing a great job on these kits. One note on the ERCU guy's most are pretty locked into buying the carbon hulls Jeff Campbell make's and sells. Too bad as building is half the fun IMHO. just may have to get a set of the 67 Bardahl frames in 1/10th we will see.

I ran my Ice 200 on my 1/8th scale Executone Hydroplane this weekend. Motor is the 1527 1Y 1250kv, 6s2p, x646 prop to start with. Mid 50's for speed. Motor, and batteries came back cool, and I pulled the datalog info from the Ice controller, showed a max temp for only a few seconds of 127 degrees F, and most of the time about 124 degrees F. Pulled a max of 208 amps for a couple seconds, but for the most part 125 to 175amps. I did a BUNCH of off plane, on plane runs with the boat since my local pond is so small, and I only did 1/2 to 3/4 throttle so I know that builds heat quicker as well. I think this controller could be the real deal. More testing and full race course runs will really tell. Mike

I find it real fun seeing a big boat running on the water. It really gets me going. It is also nice to be able to push a boat that big on 6S.
If your boat was heavy that set up would not work like in the Pro Boat it ended up 19 pounds and a bit of a strain on the Batteries.

Kits for 1/10th I would think would be extremely popular. Vintage as well as modern hulls. Im partial to Frosted Flakes, KISW, Tide and the U-3. Would love to have those hulls.

Randy, The boat came in around 14.5lbs, so its pretty light on its feet! Oh, I got those two cowlings from you, and I thank you! Mike

Ronbo, I have the 8255 kit in 1/10th scale. SailrJim just ordered one actually. It makes the KISW. Mike

Lol, I just got an email from Mitch Dillard , the commisioner of Classic Thunder. He wants me to get some info and kits ready for 1/10th scale. I think I have talked to about all the directors of all the major clubs in the state of Washington! The only one I have not talked to is ERCU. Mike

                              Mike,
While you're at it, find out the best hardware for 1/10th scale! Also who makes LEGAL turn fins for them, both vintage and modern, etc.

The rule books are on the websites, ERCU and CT. Glad Mitch is in contact. ERCU, as far as Im told, is mostly carbon fiber hulls laid by several people in the club.

1/10th has the potential of being extremely popular, its the lack of kits thats slowing it down, IMOHO... Fine for those that can scratch build, but not for the rest of us...
