    Kevakov,
I ran a .187 flex drive when I ran a nitro OPS .67 and always ran a 9/32 stuffing tube. When I looked at the 7/32 everyone recommends I could not agree with that. I believe in the 9/32, no teffflon, and wet polish the flex cable and I never had a problem with that in the many years that I ran nitro. Currently running 57mph with my setup and while that's not the fastest cat around it obviously not a problem.

      Rich,

Funny, I'm trying to get to Fluid's 61+mph too. Not sure my setup will let me get there but trying a new prop (Y537-3) but running into bad weather here in Indiana and funerals. Probably have to wait until July when I get back to NC. Good luck with your attempts at 61mph - let me know how you do.

D&D : Wet sanding the flex shaft down some is a great idea, I will try that. I have a piece of thin antenna mast with a Dremel round bit on the end off to make a honing tool for the inside of the brass.

I really dont want to rip out the 7/32 brass shaft as it turned out nice, maybe by wet sanding and honing it will loosen it up some.

My goal for this boat has always been 55mph, that is plenty of speed for this hull, I like to run for fun, sometimes to much speed is a PITA!!!!

Kevakov, Again on the stuffing tube - from my rough and tumble days of NABA running in the NE of the country, we always ran what we called a "Guide Tube" and then ran a stuffing tube through that. One small solder spot would hold the stuffing tube into the Guide Tube and the suffing tube then became easily removable in case of accidents, turtles, limbs, etc..... I still use the Guide Tube today in case of turtles which are plentaful in Lake Trace, NC.

Oh yea, I am just running for "sport" also and don't want to do anything outside the cautious range to attain that 60mph range. Already over 55mph on an X440-3 prop and that is a lot of consistent fun.

Rich, I saw potential with my Y537-3 prop, but constant bad water (not like glass) has held me back. My setup is a Neu 1515 1Y on 4S and using a HV180 controller. I hit 57.7 with the X440-3 and I pushed my timming from 7 to 9, but didn't like the extra heat developed and have returned to the more conservative 7 degrees timming and ran 57.4mph with that setting.

Kevakov, No, I did not detounge my X440-3. I have taken a small amount of diameter off of the prop, but with no advantage. As I just passed on to Rich, I see potential in the Y537-3 (less diameter than the X440-3, but more pitch), just need good water and weather to find out. Maybe when I get home to NC next month - our lake has practically no boats on it and it is normally very smooth water.
