Thanks Todd! i am thinking i will work on the cooling of the motor a little bit , maybe add a separate cooling line for the motor. But i was really happy with the results. and the hull handled awesome!

I did some more thought today and i realized u cant let a particular group of a few people take away a piece of american heritage (the rebel flag) and make it there own hate banner. What Im saying Is I was wrong the dukes of hazard was my favorite show just like every other little kid back then so man forget xfactor you paint your boat like you want flag and all it will probably be phat.Flags dont hurt us as people it the thoughts behind them that do .

Well, I am glad to see this build as I got one of these hulls a couple of months ago and am now getting ready to put in hardware (had to take out the old strut as it was installed wrong--way under the hull). Anyway, I am also using Speedmaster hardware, how deep is your strut mounted? I am new to FE so don't have the experience yet, so more than happy to learn from those that have "been there, done that". Thanks...Pete M

titan, thanks for answer on the turn fin, I have ordered one from OSE. Yes, the bracket for that one is way smaller than the Speedmaster fin, I will keep that one for a future project of some sort. If it wasn't a curved fin I could use it right away on my Super Cobra, but that model requires a straight fin.

As for pictures of the Shadow, no, I didn't have any but since you asked and the camera is handy, here it is, sans hardware. I am going to put a Scorpion 4025 outrunner in it on 10S, will hopefully give it some get up and go. However, when you get yours dialed in (prop, etc.), let me know what you end up with and I may switch over--a proven system that will get into the 50s sounds great to me. Now as soon as I find out where the strut needs to be, I am good to go...Pete M

I've revived this old thread because I've been running my Shadow some more this summer and wanted to update anyone interested. It's currently set up with a 1527/1Y, 6S1P/6500-G3s and a Schulze 32-170. I made several changes to the hull, first I removed the air traps on the bottom - like I did on my Aeromarine Sport 21. That smaller hull (33") just would not stay on the water with the traps in place, so I removed the traps from the bigger (37") Shadow before I ran it. Mistake - the Shadow ran too tight to the water even though it is 8 ounces lighter than the Sport 21.

I finally added a little aoa to the sponsons and now the hydro runs great. Speeds are upper-50 to mid-60s in hot weather depending on the prop choice. I can prop up a bit in cooler weather but it's fine for our windy race water. The 6500s give plenty of run time for a one-mile heat race, and the boat handles perfectly on the 1/6th mile oval.

Sure. The prop I'm using now is a de-tongued x452, slightly cupped.
