Very impressive Randy.
If you get a spare 5 minutes could you give us the overall length?
I have it's big brother (38 inch) as you know. I was very impressed with it's speed on 3's and 4s has taken me to speeds I have never seen before on my gps. I would be very interested in one of these little guys. Are they going to be available to the general public? If so could you PM me an estimate of how much the cost would be?
A picture to remind you of your incredible work...

Hey Randy, we sometimes disagree on nonsense but I just remembered something you told me once a long time ago. It was around the time that you were getting beat up over the "Spirit of the Eagle" SAW record. You told me on the phone that if the rules made imagination and artistry illegal that you would just quit. I'm paraphrasing but I never forgot it. It influenced me too. If I have the opportunity to build something that's more than just a boat I'm taking it. Anything worth doing is worth doing with some flash and flare.
Some of your designs are proof that the truly gifted artists will express themselves no matter what.
Now, that boat should be called the American Bad A$$ with dollar signs and everything.Noisy personComment

Anything worth doing is worth over-doing in my book.
I found that on a page I copied from Randy's book.Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment

Randy,
About your hull build process.
Most hull manufacturing uses a negative, so they can have a gell coat, smooth outer hull.
Yo u use a You use a vacuum bag CF cloth over a positive, at least on the riggers. Why? What is the advantage of this approach?Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment

When you see a positive it is a Plug to make the mold, to make the boat parts. I could use gel coat and have a lot of bling that is brittle and heavy. I prefer to use Epoxy I can use pigment in it too to make gel coat. but that just hides imperfections. I do vacuum bag all my parts in negatives.Comment
-
Randy, you can use epoxy vacuum infusion and have a grade A bling CF finish, out of the mold. No gell coat!!Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment

Oh ya I know about that, once again it not the best for the boat. It makes a lot of resin in the boat and not fiber. It might as well be gel coat. I never put bling before function.Comment

Really? My friend does this process, and generates a composite that is about 50% by weight..
Also, what about mixing up a small amount of epoxy and painting it on the surface of the mold ahead of time, like a gell coat. Prevent pattern bleed through, and end up with a class A epoxy finish. It has worked well when I was vacuum bag angle stock.Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment

I could be wrong. but something has to fill the voids and that would be resin. I spray resin on the molds to eliminate pin holes and mix a slurry to fill the rest with Milled CF.Comment

jcald2000,
38% resin BY WEIGHT?!? 62% fiber by wwegit!?!
What cloth and material do you use? What resin do you use!?!Cheetah, Super Rio, (Mod) Starship (Mod and sold),Comment
