Bending stuffing tube

Hi whats the best way to bend a stuffing tube I Read some where you should heat the brass tubing first is these correct?
2 SV 27's and Vac-U-Pickle UL-1 Power

if you haven't done this before it can be dificult....I ruined my first try
#1 slide the biggest flex shaft that will fit in the tube...this helps a whole bunch
#2 pour salt in the tube and cap off both ends
#3 heat it very carefully (till it changes colors) and use some type of protective gloves (heat)
with all three ways use finesse when you are bending

Boy i just bend it very slight with my hands and move down a hair and some more, until its enough maybe thats the wrong way but works for me,...

nothing wrong with that if you can accompish it without kinking it...the flex and salt are insurance with less chance of kink

K&S makes these and they have worked well for me so far. Heat tube up with a torch in the bend then let cool by itself. Slap one of these over the tube then bend away......
