Rudder depth beloew keel in titan 33???

I can't find a good guide on this, what do you guys think? this is the rudder: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...prod=ose-80050 130mm long. Lives up about centered with the prop. Just wondering how low to mount it. Opinions also welcome on how far to the right. I was gonna do a 1/4" gap from the closest point the rudder can get to the prop...??? Thanks in advance! This is my final hardware dilemma. Holes all marked for trim tabs ect... Due to using 4 trim tabs the turn fins will be out kinda far, I don't think that will be an issue though. I hope...

IDK....I keep looking at different setups on various monos, and it looks like they are all fairly close to the same. I thought I read some place that there was a general guideline for how far down it should be. Hmmm, just don't wana drill the holes and THEN find the correct mounting location that it SHOULD have been in...

On my setup for a 37.5" Mono hull using Speedmaster hardware they recommend 2" below the bottom of the transom.

Great! Thanks. I thought that was around where it should be from what I had read before, but then couldn't find the info again when I was about to mount the rudder. I'll get that installed tonight. Thanks!

I'm a tad under 1-3/4" below the keel on my Titan 33 and 1-1/2" to the right. Puts my 642 around 3/8 inch from the rudder. Some go as far as 2" to the right. I'm very happy with how she handles. Turns good left and right.

Sounds perfect then, especially since it's the same boat Glad I ran out of time last night and didn't drill holes. Thanks man!
I'll post more pics soon. Got all 4 trim tabs on, as well as the stinger. How about turn fins on your boat? Due to 4 trim tabs, they will have to be pretty far out, as is normal it seems. Any opinions there?

I have a pair of the 2"x1" trim tabs on my Titan 29 and 33 and this gives me more room for the turn fins. I mount the fins so they are perpendicular to the bottom surface of the hull and so the tips dont extend past the sides of the hull. I assume this prevents you from getting tangled up with another boat if you get get too close during heat racing. Also make sure your tabs are mounted at least 1/16" above and not flush with the hull bottom. Here's a pic of the hardware on my gas boat.

Oh ya, that makes sense to keep the turn fins from sticking out too far. I like the look of your hardware setup. My trim tabs are closer to 1/8" off the bottom. Hope that works out ok. I'll keep the turn fins in as close as I can. Gonna go do some measuring right now. Can't wait to get the thing in the water!

Ooops. I forgot to recheck the gap between rudder and prop with 1.5" to the right and the gap is about 1mm. Not sure what to do now. I posted pics in my "build pics of aeromarine titan 33" thread.
