36" Sprintcat with Twins - what motors have you run?

    Hey Crew,

Looking for people who have setup a 36inch'ish cat with twins, Just acquired one and planning for a sport twin setup.

Im trying to decide on motors, Really want outrunners but may go with something else, these are what I am considering so far

Turnigy Typhoon 600's on 6s each
Turnigy Typhoon 500's on 5s each (least likely option as have been told these motors will not be enough)
    Fiegao 540 9xl's on 4s each

Info Im looking for is Amps, heat and speeds.

    Thanks

I'd go 9xl's on 5 or 6s. With twins youll pull less amps because the motors are helping each other out and taking away some of tha load.

Yeah this is true, Though being a sport boat I was hoping to run 4s as I have 4s packs and 6s packs, but no 5s, maybe I just go twin 8xls..

The other thing I need to look at is what left and right rotating props are available.

I saw a vid of an arrowshark 53" fighter (like i used to own for gas) doing around 50mph on twin 8xls

Wow, is it possible that a 41" Falcon could run fast on twin XL motors?
I would love to have one of those hulls but only have twin SV motors to play with

here is the video of the fighter doesn't look quite like 50mph but you get the idea, running 4s to each motor, these are a BIG low lift hull, im sure the falcon would perform better than the fighter being a wider, shorter higher lift hull.

I found those right after I asked the question, thanks for posting those!
Looks like I may build a 41" Falcon with twins on a budget..

Well, I set up my intruder 38" on twin BJ motor/esc combos ran X442s on 4-6S and got near 60 mph. I ran the Proboat ESCs on 6S each WITH internal BEC and had no issues. Everything was 90 deg or less. did not eagle tree it, but would guestimate 50 amp with 70 amp spikes? Maybe those ESCs can handle a lot more... 45A???

Looks like I might be building one of these cats with twin SV power, and see what kind of speeds I can get..
