Thought I'd post the results of a few weekends of playing around setting up the 'Arowana' hull from R2 Hobbies.
The result is a reasonably priced Mid 40's mph boat.
Splashed a bit of paint on it (literally) a couple of stickers & this is the result.
The hull.
It runs a himodel 9Xl motor
A himodel GX200A ESC
Turnigy 5.8 a/h 25c battery.

Prop is an Octura X645
Strut, rudder & engine mount are from R2 also.
Flex is .150.
Trim tabs & turn fins are home made.
It originally ran nice & stable at around 45mph (gps) over 5 laps, with just one turn fin.
Then I decided to fill in the hooks at the rear of the hull & created an uncontrollable boat that just wanted to fly & flip, but reached 49.7mph. No amount of COG adjustment or strut adjustment or prop changes would bring it under control.
So with a set of trim tabs & a turn fin added to the left side it now runs like a boat should again. Not a world beater but a good solid performer. And cheap too.
Here's a few pics & a video.
Just thought I'd share.
