    some pics

    Hello.
Just wanted to post some pics of some boats.
The one boat is a jae 21 fe, i just finished the boat and its my first fe boat. I have been running riggers for about ten years but strickly nitro. The blue boat isa scratch built Keps .21. This is a very quick boat (74mph). But after running the jae i am thinking about converting it to FE.
I was thinking about using a 180 ESC with a 3060 kv, and 2 5000 40c 2s batteries in series. Does this sound ok?
Any advice for a new fe guy would be great.
    Thanks.

    Steve.

Nice looking boats - welcome to FE !!!! Can't help you with riggers never ran one but I'm sure the other guys will chime in shortly! There are some very fast rigger runners here!

3060KV is too high for 4S. You need something more around the 2000KV mark. If you want to run this with 4S, you can go in two different directions:

        P Hydro = 4S, any motor. Recommend NEU 1515/1Y. You'll need a 240LV esc.
Spec Hydro = 4S, SV27, UL-1, Proboat 1500 motor. Use stock esc for particular motor.

Batteries are OK if they'll fit in the boat.

          Thanks sailr.
I already have a 180 ap ESC. Would that be ok to use with a 1515/1y. If not maybe you could suggest a motor that will work. The Keps.21 hull is very light (1lb 12oz) including hardware.
Does HK have a decent motor? I have a tight budget.
          Thanks.

EODMAN Thanks, i believe i will enjoy FE ... no more tuning on a daily basis.

It runs good, i don't know how fast as i lost my GPS (don't ask) LOL. It turns on a dime. I have only tried a few props... x445 ,1445, and a highley modified 2050. The later being the fastest by far. If i had to guess i would think around 50mph. The batteries are 5000 40-50c 2s.
Yes it is a ul1 motor and ESC.
I don't really know what "running well" is, as this is my first FE. The blue boat is a scratch built Keps.21 it is very quick. i am going to convert it to electric. I really want some serious speed out of it. I need more knowledge on motor options. I have a 180 amp ESC.

                  Thanks hydrojerry,
I will look into this setup.
From wha i have been able to gather a lower kv means less rpm per volt but higher tork. Is this thinking right? Im sure that their is more than this though.
