Ok glad it was just the esc.

The rubber band is on the inside and works prefectly. Its really smooth and offers a really nice resistance the whole range of motion and pulls the throttle off when I let go, just like my other transmitters.

I like your idea for the more precise smooth ratchet, I didnt like the feeling of the reqular one. But I just took the ratchet off and reversed it, ill have to use your ratchet method if I ever get a plane. Thanks for all the tips

Well I ordered from hobby king on april 23rd, and they sent my package to the hong kong post on april 30th 7 days after I ordered what a joke.

This is what the honk kong post is saying : 7-May-2010 Hong Kong Item posted and is being processed. another 8 days from the order......
8-May-2010 Hong Kong Processed for departure.
so about 2 weeks from date of order to the time HKP Has is processed for departure, OSE members need to know that they need to get EMS shipping from Hobby King instead of regular airparcel, for 5-10$ more its worth it when you get it in 6 days taher then 3-4 weeks.... or even longer, I hope my stuff comes in soon so I can run this thing.................

Also in being kind of new/unexperienced to rc boating I did not realize that the length of the strut bracket(distance of props from transom) had an influence on the amount of lift generated by the props.

I am worried that my props, being so far from the transom (3.25") may cause too much lift and result in the boat running very unstable or balooning.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Sorry to hear that. Crazy, another member on the forum and I were just talking yesterday and he was stating how impressed he was w/ the Air mail. He and I always did EMS and he tried on Air mail a couple weeks ago and got his order in 10 days. (To FL) I had a similar situation though w/ a package coming air out of HK form a different dealer and it "processed" 3 times after coming into the states in the same State in the same P.O.????? I think its just hit and miss. Sometimes Air is gunna be good, mostly its not.

Hobby King is just getting slamed! Look at how fast batteries gets sold out. I usually order with EMS which takes around 3-5 days to my door. I had one order take a whole week before beimg shipped. I also did registered airmail and that took about two weeks. I am still waiting for my motor mount from Canada next week will be one month!

I think when you place props farther behind it settles the front down. Being that you have twice the lift I may get interesting.

Very interesting build! This is absolute proof why I'm not interested in anything RTR, you gotta try it yourself. But are you sure that rudder linkage is sufficient? Lots of power and that rudder linkage looks kind of weak to me, but maybe I over-do things a bit.

Ya the linkage arm is a bit weak, I was up at my college apartment building this and didnt have a large enough servo horn or thick push rod. I just wanted to make sure everything lined up right, ill be sure to get a heavy duty one on there when I get a chance.

HobbyCity order should be here on tuesday, so ill hopefully have this thing on the water by wed at the latest.

Ok guys I got this thing in the water, Sorry no video yet but it runs sick as hell, huge rooster tail and turns on rails. I was surprised at how well it turns, just as good as a single mono and the acceleration is sick. Ill get some vid of it as soon as it stops raining, its been pretty bad out the last few days. Look for the vid in the next day or two.

Sorry guys Ive been soo busy, this has been my first chance to post a video. But here it is:

Runs good, not super fast but handles perfectly and is fun to drive, great acceleration. Cool temps on motors and ESC, another 5S 5800 is on the way as the battery does in fact get a bit warm, imagine that... Owell after the shown run the pack only took 2579 mah, I just brought her in cause I dont want to ruin that pack.

Ive ran it 6 times now usually for about 4 mins and the pack always takes less then 3000mah, so I should be able to run it for a while when that 2nd pack gets here, hopefully by this weekend.

It looks like its running a bit nose heavy and that is prob robbing alot of speed but I cant really get the packs back any further cause I had to put the Turingy 180s behind the motors and the packs behind those.

I havn't done any fine tuning at all yet not even strut adjustment, just havn't had the time. But hopefully I can get the weight back a bit more and start messing with the struts a bit. Im definately thinking about stepping up from 40 to 42mm props, once I get the second battery anyway.
