I have the struts spaced so that I can have up to 43mm props, 45's are shown in the pics. I was thinking I should have spaced it for 45's but I figured 42's would be more then enough plus as you can see anymore spacing would have put the brackets out too far. I already need to grind about a mm off of the lower outside corner of each strut bracket. .
        Why?

If you raise up the strut mounts wouldn't that help?

Are the cables coming out the bottom or transom?

I just have to grind a little off of the lower outside corner because it is hanging off of the hull a little. I would have raised them but the rudder base is huge and that is the highest i can put them. And unfortunately the cables have to go through the bottom since the struts are out so low and wide.

Theres no room on this thing, its a very shallow hull. The rudder could not have been mounted any higher and the tops of the strut bracket are touching the bottom of the rudder base. Any closer to the center and I would only be able to use 40mm props

disclamer: I have no 'experience' setting up a twin mono, but some design experience and what I share is only input from one designer to another. take it or leave it, I will follow with interest all the same.

If you are running subsurface props, you might not need much diameter. it looks like that is what you will end up with; in which case, you will probably not want lifting props. I suspect potential cavitation issues with struts that deep.

If you trimmed off the upper inside corner off each strut you could gain up to half an inch maybe. I am concerned with the drives being so low. If I were setting this up (and I have no twin mono experience), I would shoot for prop shaft no lower than bottom of vee, but that is just me. I know my single drive monos perform much better with the prop above the base of vee even up to 1/2" or more, AND positive strut angle.

I totally agree with you on the depth issue. Here are some pics of how im expecting to have to mount the struts. Ill put the struts all the way up and drill holes to get some bolts though. Once I get the best depth which will probably be the highest possible im gonna cut down the excess strut.

If it still isnt deep enough then I can actually still flip the strut brackets upside down as you can see in the third picture. I would do it now but I think it looks better with the curved part of the bracket on top.

to high and the handling in a turn I think will go out the window, but I'm very interested in seeing how it runs in a video!

I see your point, great idea - in fact may actually get you some adjustability in case you actually have to come back down.

Never know until you try it (and film it so we can see too). It would be cool if you could also record how it FEELS when you drive it. watching is one thing, but actually trying to get it to obey you is another.

Ya I see what your saying, when I do finally get this thing done Ill make sure to post a few videos atleast and ya ill def let you know all about how its handling. Prob wont have the video until the end of the month.

Anyways im waiting on a carbon fiber sheet, cf plate, and square cf tubes which should be here in the next few days. Im gonna cf the floor, run the tubes as rails to hold the batteries in place, and use the cf plate as a base for the motor mount. Ive never worked with cf before so we'll see how it goes.

That baby looks very promising bro, can't wait to see her in action! Are you gonna trim some of the rudder length? Looks just a shade long to me.
