    50 Feet of 1" PVC+ 28 T's + 20 Elbows = ???

My fleet has grown considerably over the last year and it was evident that throwing the boats in the back of the Suburban was no longer going to cut it for a race weekend. So after I finished my final build last month, I got to work on a PVC rack. The whole package fits into the back of my Suburban with an inch to spare. I drilled out the T's on the crossmembers with a 1-3/8 hole saw and held them in place with a self tapping sheet metal screw so I can adjust the racks as the fleet changes.

Three boat builds (including my first gas boat and first rigger) and the rack done in four months. I'm done building for a while!!! I told my wife to say goodbye to the UPS man. LOL

It's time to run some boats!!!

Yep, Thats the gas Sniper. I had it out for the first time a few weeks ago. She ran great for first time out. Engine ran strong with no torque roll. She turned on a dime and kept good power in the turns. I had a carb/shut off issue and ended up dinging her up on some rocks, but she will be ready to hit the water as soon as I get another prop. I have to start tuning the pipe and maybe playing with the strut angle a bit. She is running just a hair wet. It's nice not having to worry about running the batteries down too much or frying a speed controller. Still love my FE boats though.

Gas Sniper...yeah baby!! Looks nice man! You running a 260 in it? I've been checkin' out the gas whips and riggers...time for me to quit thinking about getting a good deal on 1515 1Y's (LMOA!...) and spending some on something BIGGER!!

Stock Zen 260. The Stock Gas class in D12 is a little different than IMPBA Super Stock. We can do a few things to the motor to increase reliability without increasing performance. We can also run a tuned pipe and any type of hull except a rigger. IMPBA Super Stock is for mono's only, canister muffler and box stock motor. It's a good starter class for gas boats.

Here are some pics during the build.

What were you thinking of putting the 1515 in?

You know, you are going to be the one that twists my arm, dont ya?! LOL! Ever since I attended the Gas Clash last year in MD, I have been thinking about getting one. I think once these JAE's are built and running, I am going to get into it...no doubt!!

Going to the Gas Clash this year Mike? I would like to go again...keep me posted on it if you are...

Oh yeah, the 1515...I had a couple of interests with that one...

I was going to run in the Gas Clash, but since I am doing Greensboro, I probably will not. Plus hotel rooms in that area are stupid expensive. If I'm in town, I may run over there for a few hours and watch though.

Sweet. Is your rack just for storage or do you take it to the pond?

Strictly storage. I have individual stands to set them in while in the bed on my truck. I havent made a new set for my current vehicle, but my old truck (03 f150) I had a stand built to fit the bed that I would remove the boats from that rack and put them in the truck bed rack. It was a pretty cool set up, held 3 50-62" boats.. wish I had some pics of it, but I never took one.

Now this is funny. I've been made fun of my cart that I go to the pond with. It disconnects at the bottom of the cart. I can roll everything I need for a whole day of fun. I limited space for two boats plus the recovery so I don't end up hauling the whole fleet with me. Here it is just after I finished the first version. It's now about 8" shorter and has one more support.

Thats exactly what I need to make! Usually Im runnin boats by myself behind the house and if I go to the other side of the lake... its quite a haul to carry whatever Im running, plus the rescue rig and some misc tools... and I always end up needing something and have to run back and forth...
