Bought petes plans. They look great. I bought some of the wood yesterday but they didnt have 1/8th. I hope to start cutting on friday. I plan on running twins.

which struts should i plan to use?

I don't recomend that rudder, mostly because its mount is not symetrical, but i'm sure it would work fine.

I used those blue struts for my build, they work ok, I turned a set of octura 3/16 bearings down to fit and ran a stepdown shaft to use counter rotating x430's with .130 cable. Don't forget to get reverse lay cable for your boat.

Here is a link to my build up, check it out and plan your build a little better then I did, you can see in my haste to build I didn't angle the motors and ended up with a undesirable bend in the flex cable. Also this build was the prototype to those plans, so your boat will be better then mine is.

I am starting a new build of the same boat from my dads plans. So that will be cool to se eachothers progress.

I am going to be using small etti stinger struts for this build, they are being modified by Jeff Wholt to accept ball bearings, so my drive line will be super smooth this time lol. I was also considering some Scorpion brushless outrunners but am also thinking about the feiago 380 motors here on OSE because there are motor cooling jackets for them here on OSE.

I know they seem long, but when I mount them they will stick out from the rear of the boat about the same as my initial build. I will post pictures in my build thread once I get them.

I use that stinger on my bby war zone jr. They are a bit heavy, do you think it would be too much weight to have two sticking out?

Im trying to find some motors to run in the boat that are watercooled. I am guessing these are too hot. Or will they work. I guess I could use these on 2s instead of 3

I think my dad was going to try out those or some similar to them. Maybe give em a try. They may even be over rated in KV, plus over powered = just right! lol.

Your choice, I would go with 3s, but thats me. Did you see my vid of my other mini twin cat? It was quick, running on 2s with twin 3600KV motors, for me it wasn't fast enough though.

Try this one it will fit the space and isn't quite as hot and only runs 900 rpms faster than the ones I use currently
