    MHZ Cougar

    Hi,

i have allmost finished my lagrest boat - MHZ Cougar 38".

What prop and KV would you recomend for 9S1P LiPoly 5000mAh setup. I Have already bouhgt Feigao 580L 1051KV and Turnigy 120Amp max 12S regler.

I would start with Octura X440. Do you thing that will work for speeds around 50mph? Can i reach 65 with larger prop?

Great looking boat. Is your battery configuration a single pack or several? (just curiosity).

It looks like you will be spinning over 30K rpms with that set up. I would go lower kv myself with a bit bigger prop, but I will be watching to see what people with experience say (I have none).

I ran 3 single pack. I use 3S packs in all other RC models.

I thing, my combination 9S LiPoly + 1050KV i can consider like 4-5S and 2100KV motor, right? What prop this combination takes for sport? What poprs are good for hull of this size?

440 would be quite small I think, cavitating a lot. Depending on your strut depth also. However I think that the problem is not the props but the motor. Try also a 442 but I think the max. you can go is 445. Always check the motor temperatures after 1 min run in the first tests.
I don't think that you can make this boat run 50 mph with the feigao 580, maybe 40? Tell us the results...

Maybe a NEU 1521 1y, or a 1527 1y. What is the weight of the boat?
For 60 mph you would need also a "strong" esc.

I like MHZ monos, i have only ones. Micro mono GMC Fountain is very cute. My wife drives micros.

I like curves of Fountain boats. They looks good and drives too, especialy ShockWave. Shocwave is quite small, but very sharp. With 6S LiPol and Hacker B50S and CNC 34mm prop, is fast enough and corners like on rails.

Yes, Cougar is equiped with MHZ hardware. Trimax looks good and works even better - "3D" adjustment is very useful.

There is picture of Cougars back..

So, there is at least photo of inside.

Hey, what a great Boat! that deserves a better motor! Try 1521/1y 0r 1527/1y and start with a x452 and check temps. with those 580l try a x642 and work your way up while checking temps.you may want to try a different Esc, like
MGM 12545-3 E-SERIES. or Z SERIES.. what model Mhz rudder are you using?? i like. hey when you are setup could you post some video? .:rockon2

With 9SA123 batteries it weights about 3250g. It isnt so much, but 9S A123 isnt not enough power for this boat.

                              I would try 8S LiPoly Turnigy NanoTech 4000mAh 45-90C wiht Prather 225.

                              I post video ASAP.
