can you post pics of the radio box set-up? are you guys using ul1 esc's as well or does the tunnel draw too many amps?
I ran the stock 45-amp ProBoat ESC for two seasons... I can tell you from EagleTree data that the amp draw is CONSIDERBLY more than you'd think... 60+ continuous on my setup, with high periods approaching 100... ESC eventually just stopped working... no smoke, or anything... just stopped... literally... 2-laps in.. no more go...

roger that, you were using the proboat motor too werent you? i havent had any issues with the stock ul-1 stuuff in my rigger and that turns a 48mm prop, but that is a rigger....
what would you recomend? what do you use now?

I still use the ProBoat motor, but it's not easy to do that and really keep up with the fastest UL-1 powered boats... It can be done, but you need to drive well and really have a good prop...
Tough to describe my prop... it started life as an X645... but it's only 41.6mm now, and is completely tweaked... Still room for improvement, I'm sure... but on a small light setup, it works...
I'm thinking the BJ26 setup might work better on a little bigger boat that can handle more prop... the WoodStuff started to get a little dicey when I went too big... Backed off on the speed to keep the handling.

i was thinking of a vission or wood 28 with the ul-1 set. i have a super-v/ts2 right now and am looking for something that fits my collection better. i like the sv but the ul-1 motor impressed me so much in a jae rigger i just cant see why i dont have a tunnel with it. i considered a hot rod but think if i can get a spec boat doing high 30's low 40's that is what i need. what kind of speed are you getting out of the bj?
Aim higher... My WoodStuff 28 with the BJ setup in it races in the upper 40's... 47-49mph.... Average speeds around 38mph for the race... with moments of glory as high as 53mph... though I don't like the way the boat drives with that particular prop...
