    A couple last questions, maybe.

Finishing my Renegade Rigger and I have a couple last questions. I painted it with Krylon primer and color coat. Do I need to clear coat this boat and if so do I have to sand or scuff it before putting the clear on? It has been a couple days since the color coat was applied. And also what is the distance outside to outside on the sonsons that you guys are running? Thanks for any input I've enjoyed building this boat.

Try sanding with 800-1000 and then clear. The clear will protect the paint from chipping

Yes definately clear the boat if your looking for a nice finish. If your going for speed records then dont.

No sanding is ever needed between raw base color and clear. If your putting clear over existing clear then you need to sand the existing clear with 1000 grit first.

Thanks for the answers on the clear coat. Hopefully some of the Renegade owners chime in and let me know the measurement on the sponson to sponson width.
        Thanks again

Yes the measurement is from outside to outside of the sponsons. the carbon rods in the kit are 12 inches long. Just wondering if you cut down the rods or used them as they come in the kit.
