ECO Build - "Rush"EVO (clone of Sonic EVO)

Well, I finally got the hull and started working on it.
    Got it from:

Quite a good quality hull for the price, the floodchamber comes as a kit comprising wall and FG tape. I doubt it is gel coated, as it cleans waaay to easy with sand paper...
I installed the floodchamber and realized the left side is a bit wobbly, very difficult to tape it. One 2mm piece of balsa, laminated with light FG on both sides later, it is nice and stiff.
I also marked the future holes for the hardware, whenever this will arrive...

      Cornel :

That's the German way of gelcoating a hull.
Only a very thin layer of coat.

Will post it once I get it...
Depending on the class, it will get a brushed Team Orion 14T or a Feigao 11S on 7 cells. Lipo is not yet officially accepted here...
Running hardware is home made, 1.5mm wiredrive on a ball bearing strut, stainless or carbon rudder.

I'd say stainless on the rudder, it'll be hard to keep it thin and sharp with carbon.

Pretty boat!! Yes, the hull is gellcoated but being a race hull, all excess weight was removed. Including excess epoxy from the layup and surface coat. This might not be necessary if you guys ran LiPos.....

Well, I will run NiMh only if I will go to the official competitions... our unofficial races are sort of "open"...

Well, here are the first runs... on Lipo, as the brushed motor could not get to the correct rpms on my pack (Team Orion 6 cell 5300), probably not correctly formatted, but I'll get them through a few cycles for next week. First run is a 29mm prop, second is a 32mm, both Graupner brass. I am waiting for an order for some H&M stainless props, so we will see.

These are the pictures as of today... still needs a coat of clear and a silver on the bottom.
The small servo is a HD micro 2216MG, with plenty of torque and very fast. ESC is a LRP car capable of 70A, with reverse (not used). This will be changed, as I do not really fancy the soft start.
Motor support, coupler, 2mm wiredrive and rudder (stainless) are all home made, so far performing perfectly.

                      Nice work there CornelP,

Theres not much room in there .

I really like your paint work. looks awesome.
If you where to paint a thin black line around your paint work
it would really make it stand out. POP !!
                      Good job mate.

I will try, but my hand is not so steady... I could not go for a more complex scheme, as this will be racing, so I have to watch the weight. I am already at 1,1kg, about 100g too much, so need to check my runtimes.
Initially I wanted to line it with CFK or simple carbon, but that would have added too much...
