Ran the boat this weekend at the Waveblasters meet in Port St. Lucie, FL. The boat was fast as hell but the driver stunk! The Feigao 580L lasted exactly 2.5 heats before it threw a magnet and took out the speed controller with it. The motor is a POS! Now I'll have to save up a long time to get a NEU 1527 for it!

Will get some pics and try to post tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for abandoning my thread! I was fighting the time curve getting it ready for the race yesterday.

UGH! Bummer on the motor man. Seems the 580s may be problematic.

tYeah, a friend of mine had the same thing happen. The motor took out his Castle 240 ESC when it went. In my case, it took out my last Seaking 180. I can send the motor back in but I can't get the little screws out of the case to get the water jacket off! They are such a tiny hex head that they just stripped out when I tried to remove them. Dang!!!!!!

when I heard the 580's now had a carbon or kevlar wrap on the rotor, I thought it would be OK. Guess I got one that was old stock or something or else the wrap still didn't solve the problem. Guess I'll have to ask steven if I can drill out the little bolts to get the jacket off or ask if he can get them out and save my water jacket.

I slotted one of the screws with a dremel cutoff wheel once to get er out with a flat screwdirver. Give it a whirl.

I'll give that a try. They are incredibly tight. Must be loctited in there or something.

Does POS mean what I think it does?Are you gonna get a replacement on the motor?

Astute observation regarding POS.

The motor will be warrantied. A little leary of even running a 580L again since it also took out my ESC.

where do you get the classic hatch? I am liking the Sprintcat more now with that hatch...

Exactly. I ordered the sprintcat specifically with the CLASSIC hatch. Just turn it around backwards and paint a windshield on it. That's what I did. Somebody else on OSE had done it. That's what convinced me. I don't like the looks of the Springcat either with the Turbine hatch!

Sure is a sweet running and handling boat .
