    motor mount ideas?

I am working on getting the giant 580 motor w/ cooling jacet into my 31" Challenger (mono) and just realized the hole in the bulkhead is too low... As opposed to reaming it out (which is never completely out of the question) I was thinking I would like to use one of Jim Williams racing type mounts... anybody have a good elegant idea (since these are discontinued).

I may have to enlist the Zichanator....

I used a Zicha mount for it in my sprintcat. Awesome stuff!

I used Peter's mount also. Beautiful craftsmanship.

mount is in! testing in progress

Thanks Randy, I bet that does work great! I hadn't seen your post before I got my solution.

I figure that since these boats are royalty they deserve nothing but the best. I went with a Zichamount but had to add some CF and ply to attach the front part of the mount.

I am using a monster 580L WITH cooling jacket and this raises the whole mount above the rails... SO I had to engineer a workaround. Heath should recognize the esc... The servo mount is an OFE special as is the rudder.

Thanks Jim, but I didn't see motor diameters on there; I am using a 580L. Plus I like the ESC plates on top, which I also didn't see on there.

The Zichamounts are the bomb as far as beauty as well as strength. They are not cheap... but worth it!

Sorry, I thought you were looking for a mount for a scorpion? I probably misread the thread. Williams DOES make a mount for the 580. I have one in my Sprintcat:

He also has them afor 4" rails. Use the "CASE DIAMETER" drop down box and selection Feigao 580.

Cool, thanks for posting the William's mount link, I had looked for that before.
And good to know they can take larger motors.
