Rigger Input Needed: unconventional sponson design

OK, here's a link for a Dr. Psycho Rocker that uses anything but conventional sponsons. Has anyone seen this before? Is there any updated information about this design?

    I am very curious!

That is Soooooo cool. Remember, I'm one to like the unique and/or hard to find stuff.

Very cool. I love seeing different designs.
I wonder what happens when it hits a wave?

It just goes threw it, sometimes it flyes threw the air.

Hydrafoils are very draggy, not nearly as fast as planing surfaces. But they are cool and have a few minor advantages. This hull has a bit different design than I've seen before, probably higher drag than Randy's but very easy to make.

Is it hydrofoil? In the action picture it looks like its ridding on the bottom of the sponsons.

They have to act as hydrofoils for the rigger to get on plane. When the boat hits a wave it would pass over the foil surface rather than lifting the entire boat. Maybe they are a hybrid of sorts. I'm not sure what they'd do in a tight turn....

I wonder if they would work for SAW apps... hmmmmm

With the comments stated, I believe that this design would be limited to SAW. I'd think that if they tried to turn this model, the outside sponson would dip under the water, create drag, and continue to want to go in a straight line.

I'm in the process of registering with several foreign forums including this one to see if I can get more information. I haven't had any luck registering before, but I figure there's no time like the present to try again.

Any other thoughts on this design?

Randy, what success did you have with your hydrofoils? I was wondering if you found there was a speed range where they topped out. Last question, did they behave considerably different in different bodies of water?
