Dude those decals are going to make it look identical to the real one,,righton brother!!!So my issue is i have a mini mystic build going and this is the second hull the first one the hull was top half and bottum half and the hatch well its plastic and i layed fiberglass in the bottum worked great then mounted my strut and stuffing tube went great also then glued the two halfs together and it worped the sides of the hull but i did some bondo and smoothed it out not perfect but not bad so i went to paint it neon yellow and it turned out like crap so i sanded it and tryed again and crap again so i gave up but because of the worped sides the guy sent me another hull so this time i decided to paint it first cuz he already glued it together for me and sprayed the primer white(ok),sprayed the yellow( not perfect but ok), sprayed the clear and yep it started cracking up now i got mad,,, maybe you can see it in the pics..

Sorry for the mess , best way to fix it is sand all the clear coat off and start again.

This might make you feel better.

When i first painted the Simrad cat with clear i had runs every where.
Not up to my usually standard.
So i had to sand it all off, In that process i wrecked about 5 of the decals.
And it took me about 3 hours of sanding.
I ended up taking the cat to a friends panel & paint shop.
And he finished the clear coat for me. I might add that it turn out awesome.
So next time for the M12 same deal , I'll let my mate clear it.

Also i use 2 pak auto paint for these cats. Very tough paint. Not cheap but it does the job.

Nice little chopper you have there. I got myself a little zoom 3D chopper and i love it.

Thanks man, isanded it today but only to get the reinkle smooth now think im going to fill the in the little cracks with white model paint and then use my air brush to cover over it with the neon yellow again so i dont loose my decals(took so long to get them) then hopefully alittle wet sanding and try clearing it again but this time ill wait loger inbetween coats,,,flew the heli today and its fun but very hard to when you dont no what your doing ,,going to fly agian in a minite...keep up the good work''mate''..

I learned a lesson... I had a 240lv castle floating around my workbench.... ended up getting a small screw under the shrink.... powered it up one day and that screw shorted out my esc... now all my esc's stay in a space that looks alot like your lipos drawer... so get that hv240 in the lipo drawer...LOL

By the way Bonewar... this is a sickening build... congrats to a A+ job...

I usually put the motor and the Hydra 240 back in there boxes when there not in the boat.

Next years project. And trust me that boat will out do both of the Maritimo's.

I got in contact with the real Maritimo offshore racing team ,
and asked there permission to copy the M12 cat.
They where only to happy to give me a copy of the decal files for the cat.
I then gave them to my local sticker guy and he scaled down the graphics and
made me the decals.
I think they cost me $55.

Worth it to me to have the boat look as close to the real thing as possible.
I did the Simrad cat the same way.

And thanks for the offer with glassing the carbon hull.

Next years project will be the HPR. Twin

Update

It's been raining here for a while.
So no painting.

I pull out the lipo's for this project, and soldered the 6.5mm bullets .

I set up the system on the bench to test everything was working.
10cell -1p configuration. And a 2cell lipo powering the Optima7.
Glad to say she's firing.

I've got the Hydra set up on soft start and man this motor is going to be hard to handle.
Lots of power.


Had a little problem with my Thunder power charger.
I plugged in 1 of the 6 cell lipo's and she popped (bang),
The magic smoke appeared from under the little fan on the charger.

Very strange ,this is the first time this has happen to me.

Any one else had this happen????

Going to get it repaired.

This year for me has been very busy at work,
I'm amazed i have got this far with this build.

M12 hatch

Been worried about this for a while.
The modified hatch has poly resin in it and i don't want to test it out
in a high speed crash. I think it will crack.


I have been inspired by Scott (aka, tiqueman) .
With his hatch glassing for the black jack 26.


So i made a fiber glass plug for the hatch of the M12 and on the weekend i will
make the new hatch using hybrid blue black carbon , and epoxy resin.
This will turn out real nice because i was going to paint the canopy on the hatch dark blue. Now i think i will leave it with the blue black carbon glossy look.
Anyway i'll post a pic when i'm done.
