Starting to get the controls sorted out , The tunnel flap gets a futaba S9254 high speed digital servo and that will be run by the futaba GY401 gyro.
The steering control gets a futaba S9551 high torque digital servo.
I'm also using metal control arms , should be strong and up to the task.
I've also started working on the stuffing tube set up.
I'm going to run it with no teflon just grease/oil mix.
Been trying to work out how to add an oil system to the stuffing tube to keep it wet with oil. ????
The water lines are all finished just need to be glued into place and the fittings added.
Also not to sure where to mount the Gyro , I was thinking up the front under the motor. Any ideas here would be appreciated. .

That will work there good. It needs to be up front to get the movement. You will want to put it up higher they do not like water this I know from experience looks good I was thinking a Grate white got ya

Oilers I used to use RC control line tanks they work good
Your boat awesome!By far the best build Ive seen.I hope you finish it.The real Maritimos look sweet.Ive never seen real cats before.I want one.Keep up the great work. All your time will be well worth it.

Thanks mate.
It takes me about 12 months to finish the boats.
But trust me it will be 1 very special Maritimo when Finished.
A couple more pictures of the tunnel flap and the stuffing tube.
control line tanks work good. They are all set up for you lol they come with 3 brass lines in them. one is for fuel to the motor ( this one is now oil to your drive ) one is for filling with fuel ( now is for filling with oil) the other is a over flow or vent ( used for the same thing lol it all so means you can catch the overflow ) so all you have to do is mount it in your boat and hook up the lines. Do-bro makes all shapes and sizes of them you just need to pick one to fit in your boat. and paint it or better yet I know you could just make one out of carbonfiber

I've been busy getting all the control arms worked out and in place.
Also been playing with the gyro controlled flap.
I'm going to set the gyro up in normal mode with about 45% gain.
I've had it all plug in and the flap response very fast to lift in the bow of the cat.
It was a bit tricky to set up, with 0 movement to the left and 80% movement to the right.
But it seams to be working well.
The gyro will be setup close to the rotation point on the cat, which is
right next to the flap.
I'll get the cat up and running fast before i will use the gyro flap.
Then i will set the flap using the 3 idle up switch setting in radio, with 3 different modes of travel to test the flap.
When i'm satisfied with the results , this is when i'll add the gyro to the system
and let the fun/testing begin.
Also i really like the idea of a oil system for the stuffing tube,
been looking around for the perfect oil tank and this is what i came up with.
NOS bottle with a tiny little self primer. Perfect and it looks good.
Just have to work out a nipple on the stuffing tube. 2 pumps on the primer before each run and the stuffing tube will be almost full of oil.
wow... i just read this whole thread and this is a beautiful, high tech build. i also enjoy the fishing only i am rod and reel. i look forward to seeing this boat run and learning more about the flap. i was very interested in this when i went to the real races last year.
