    H&M Maritimo 2 x 9XL's on 6S

    Guys,
most of the parts are here for my H&M Maritimo build, so I thought I would share a few pics.

My plan is to run 2 x 9XL motors, 180amp Turnigy ESC's (which I have ordered from HC) Flightmax 5800 6S Lipo's. Hardware is mofified HOPF to accept imperial shafts, other stuff will be made by me as I go along, such as the servo mount.

Props, I have the carbon fibre 40mm & 45mm counter rotating for testing, but suggestions are welcome.

Once together, testing will start on 4S and biuld up to 5S then finally 6S.

Speed ? well all being well I would like to get a nice run at or just over the 100kp/h (60mph). but I will push the speed later, once setup is good.

    Hope you enjoy the pics...Tim.

        Nice boat Fruity,

You will love the way this hull rides the water and handles, it will eat 2" - 3" chop with ease at speed. My 1 suggestion would be to move your motors back behind the first step in the hull , About 1" back from where you have them now , reason being it will make it easier to change out your cable/wire drives. I've built 2 of these hulls , 1 twin , 1 single. The twin simrad cat , the motors are like yours and it is a pain in the a#$$# to change the drives out to oil them. I like what you have done with the servo mount , looks good. If you have any problems with your build shoot me a PM. BONEWAR

            Guys,
Thanks for the feedcack, I have seen both of your threads on OSE, as well as Wolf's, all look really good and I have used them all for refernce already - so Thanks for the info.

My motors are a bit of a pain to remove, but I can get the cables out easy enough, I like to take the cabes out when I am not running and soak them in Auto Tranny Fluid, and I fint they last a long time this way.

My main reason for having the motors far back is to allow me plenty of adjustment with the Lipo's, those 6S lipo's are darn heavy, over 800grams each, so I am going to need room to play.

I did even contemplate making the small raised hatched in the deck directly behind the motors removable, then get better access, but too much stuffing around for the benefit.

I hope this comes up well, eventually when I have run it for a bit I will paint it, something really bright, like a Traffic light green? but that's a long way off.

            Thanks - Tim.

Looking good buddy! I like your push / pull set up. After looking at your stingers, they patrude much farther out than mine. ? I wonder if this will give you a stabler ride/ more wet.. Not like you need it with this hull, bonewars right, had some chop in the last video i put up and she pushed right through .. Mines got some weight to her though!! Look'n' forward to following this build! Any reinforcing? I like c/fYOU MAY WANT IT IF YOUR GOING ABOVE 60 MPH.. OR NOT

One other thing, if you refer to my build thread and see how far i put my motors back. Well the 4's packs i run aer litterally backed right up against the motor leads. So yeah, good call on putting them (way) back there.

                  Hi ,

You will reach the 100kph with this setup , we did the same on the first run with 2 feigao`s xl9 ETTI 125amp, 6s on each motor 45mm carbon props all in a HPR06.

                    Guys,
                    Thanks for the feedback,

Wolf, I have not thought much about ri-inforcing the hull as yet, one of my main concerns at the moment is flotation and where to put it, the hull is suprisingly small when it has got 2 motors/ESC's & lipo's stuffed inside. Your's & Bonewar's Maritimo's have been motivating me for this build for ages.

Focused, thanks for the info, I was a bit worried about amp draw with these 9XL's on 6s, I run a single 9XL on 6s in my SV 27, so that's why I have chosen it, how fast have you got the HPR to with the 9XL's? Do you have any data on amp draw with differnt prop's?

Thanks for the input, now I just gotta get the time to finish this baby.......

                    Thanks...Tim.

                      Also,
I estimate running weight to be between 4kg and 4.5kg, I know this is on the heavy side from you guys other threads, but I am hoping the 6s can help me get the speed out of it.

From what I read this hull handles well, should be a bit nicer to drive than an out of control SV that will run 50mph, then jump out of the water on the tiniest ripple.....

Hopefully I can have it ready for X-mas Holidays.....Tim.

Tim if the cats finished weight is between 4/4.5 kg you are very close to the money. The boat should fly with 6 cells. Good luck with your build. Bonewar

Floatation in both the stern as well as the transom in mine. Plenty... This hull is amazing!!! As far as reinforcing, expect it to fly so just figure survival from a crash!!and renforce in that manner if desired. I went overboard and always do because a crash is eminent at some point....

                            Guys,
With X-mas out of the way, the Maritimo can get some time now, these pics show just a few small jobs to go -

                            Make Shafts
                            Finish Water Cooling
                            Tidyup wiring
                            Fit safety loops

So shouldn't be long till test day.......

                              Also,
Another pic, plus one of my SV27, it blew a capacitor on the ESC at chrismas, I can smell it just looking at the photo....

The last pic is the batteries I bought from Hobby King, they say 5800mah 30c, which equates to 190 amps roughly, but the wires are only 12 guage? any thoughts?

                              Cheers...Tim.
