    help with a Brushless outboard

i am looking for info on building a brushless outboard for use in salt water. i am familiar with nitro tunnels and want to build a FE. i will be using either a cobra or VS1 hull with REK lower. my questions all are about the motor in the open water. is this something i should be worried about because of the conductivity of salt water or will it be OK?

if necessary i can build a watertight cowl similar to the EP1 to seal the water out but dont want to if not necessary. if anyone has done this i would appreciate tips.

any info on running FE outboards in salt water is appreciated..
    thanks

You can use the usual corrosion oils for the motor. I would worry about the flex shaft. Maybe remove it from the outboard after each days use and store it in a container of Corrosion X.

i run nitro OB's in the salt so the flex isnt the problem... i am worried about the motor shorting internally..
