    Rumdog's Sprintcat

Bought from Bustitup on swapshop. It was a nitro hull. It was in pretty rough shape! And it was pink! Port side seam was completely split along with 3 cracks on the upper part of the hull. Had to tear out 2 fuel tanks that were stuffed in the sponsons(PITA), all the floatation was removed. Cleaned her up with mineral spirits and laid down a little CF. Changed out the stuff tube, It was a little large for the .187 flex. Repaired the seam with some Fiberglass cloth and epoxy. Used some spot filler and sanded smooth on the outside. Primed and painted canary yellow, then clear coated. Going to run the Feigao 580 8L on 5s2p Turnigy 25c 5000's and a new version Seaking 180 amp esc. The hardware is awesome! It is super burly stuff. Bought a new turbine style hatch that I'm in the middle of modifying to make it waterproof. Coming along good so far. Only bad part so far is that the motor mount I bought on the swap shop was a Zicha mount that supposedly fit a 580. Well, it didn't. I was able to use the front portion but the I.D. of the rear support was too small. Oh, well, I guess i'll just have to fab up a motor support to epoxy in under the motor. Couple of pics:

Mine has 1527 and 6S and is very conservative, bullet proof with 447..not sure how your set up would translate, but might try 447

Nice job. It is a quite heavy-big surface boat and amps can be tricky. 447 sounds good. The boat can run nicely with smaller props too. I started in mine with prather 225 and 645 cut to 643 and running without any noticeable cavitation. I would start with 445 check temps and then prop up, max. I believe 447,645-6,225 depends on your temps especially of esc

cool, i have a 220 and m445 to start with. should be on the water some time next week. Gonna have to get me a 447. Also have to redo the stuffing tube again as my flex doesnt spin as freely as i'd like.

Hey, thanks! I modded the turbine hatch to make it water tight. Cut out some thick lexan to fit the shape of thee turbine and epoxied it in. Then I cut a section out of the original hatch to fit the rear under the turbine and glassed it in. Works good!
