Oh...Norway. No wonder it looks so nice. Awesome! I like the idea of the quick disconnect. Negative lead just before the ESC right? I suppose there is no need to disconnect the + if you are just taking a break for lunch ect. Right?
Also I see you have the other battery on the right side. Does the boat lean to that side in the water? Maybe just while sitting still?

The negative cable is my safetycable, in case i need to disconnect in a hurry.
It is also very handy when the boat is sealed with tape and i am waiting.

The battery beside the motor is only 2s and is about the same weigth as the ESC on the other side.

The idea of a safety wire is very clever. I've seen it on a few videos before.

          Few questions:

          - Are there any risks or implications one should be aware of before thinking about implementing one on their boat?

          - One that comes to mind (w/ my first SV): If disconnecting the safety wire during cool downs, once reconnected my LVC would then read 80% of that charge, thus run my lipos too low, correct? Meaning it couldn't be used like this, and really its only uses would be that of which you mentioned; to be able to disconnect the power from batteries fast, and to save batteries after being tapped up (before a run).
          - I'm new, and promise to pay forward all help received

Curious, never even thought about LVC. Still not even sure if I need one (external) for my Etti 150 opto...

              MLJones8.
I don't think many of the ESCs available sense the startup voltage, the way the SV ESC does, & then cut out at a percentage of that. Most cut out at the LVC setting regardless of startup voltage.
              What ESC are you running?
              Cheers.

                Paul,

I'm running the stock (aquacraft) ESC for my SV27 and OSE generic LVC (3.3v). Therefore I understand that the LVC/ESC does use the start up voltage to determine when the LVC should hit. Correct?

I ran my boat today for about 1 minute and the motor broke down

                    What is that black plastic?

I guess it is time for a Neu. Is 1527/1,5d ok?

Its what separated the windings from the magnet. You can carefully coat the windings with epoxy to keep them stable and in place providing there are no shorts in the windings produced from the jacket. And wow 3000watts from and 05 motor.. that's 4hp going in maybe 2.8hp at the prop.

Kevlar wrapping on the magnet to keep it from grenading at high rpm...

                          Update on my boat project.

I mounted a Neu 1521 1,5y, himodel 200A 4-8s with etti capbank and coolingplate and ran it on 8s with prather 230 prop.

Speed 58 mph and the setup was nice and cool, but after one day of racing the ESC died, just stopped.

I had two identical esc, but the second one burnt on pluginn

I guess it is time for a real HV esc, maybe aquastar turnigy 240HV will do?

Anyway, i had a great weekend of racing, this boat is a killer on 8s.
