On that note if you are going to be doing any sort of prop work on Beryllium copper props, please make sure you follow the safety procedures involved in working with BeCo.
It is very hazardous to your health if the dust is inhaled. Or get someone with experience to balance/sharpen and mod your props for you.

      Update:

I have now changed the ESC to a himodel 200A 4-8s, with Etti HV cap board and external BEC.

The ESC is coated with DP270 and Plastdip, and cooled with a Etti coolingplate.

I will first test with 6s, then 8s.

      Propsize is X642 and 645.

I hope there will be a testrun this sunday.

      I will keep you posted

            Ok, test result!

            Tested with x642 prop and 6s, aprox 100A 2200watt
            x645 prop and 6s aprox 140A and 3000watt

My GPS broke down so i have no speed, but i guess around 50mph.

            Temp on ESC was cool

I think this thing will be a rocket!

I havent even began tuning strut angel and COG.

The handling is just awsom, like a train on rails
But i felt it was running wet?

What do you think about x646 or x648 prop? Will it be to big?

If i detongue the props, what effect will that have?

I will try to shot som video later.

                      Lasse,
Here is some data on my 33" DF copy that might help out.. Learn from my mistakes!
                      http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ad.php?t=13316

After popping my Castle HV120amp esc, I set the boat up with a 580 6L, Turnigy 180amp and on sunday I ran it with 42mm CF prop. It pulled 140amp(peak). I need a datalogger to get what the "true" amp pull is not just the peak.

By the way, my boat always ran "wet", then I cranked the tabs up and it was a whole different thing in terms of speed and handling.

                        Thanks for the info Electric

I have pulled the trimtabs up as much as i can, but it resulted in a boat that leaned to one side on high speed passes.

My strut angel is nutral, i might try to lift it up a bit.

How about the detounging? what effect will that have?

In theory, by detounging the propeller you might loose some acceleration, but may increase top speed. In practise I have not seen any numbers to see the actual effect. If you do that please be careful because you may damage the propeller, only a very small portion only from the tongue needs to be removed

What was the temperature of the feigao with the 645? I think that your setup is on the max safe limit

Ok, then i think i will pass on the dethounging. I will be using the boat for some racing with my friends, then i need som god accelration.

Temp on my 580 was cool, but i was running my boat in water with ice partly covering the lake. (yes it is still cold here in Norway)

I only did a few highspeed passes to test the temp on the setup.

I like to start slow cause i hate the magic smoke.

                              8s video

                              Ok

Here is a short video of my boat on 8s, prop x645, ESC himodel 200A 4-8s.

I Have some adjusting to do on the strutt, i felt it would blow over if i gave full throttle for more than 2-3 sec.

The speed was insane and the temp on motor, esc and lipo was cool

                              Here you go, enjoy!
