First, no need to get our hand dirty, I rather keep the gelcoat clean, so Mr. Newspaper did his job

What should I choose? Carbon or carbon Kevlar?

    procat5.jpg
Started placing the layer in to see how it fits

            Nicely done.
I didn't notice it in the text or the pics, but did you run a strip of mat all the way down the sides up to the front to strengtheg the join of the deck & the hull? This is where the cracks first start to appear
            Look at this.

Came home from work, too tired to work on the hull, plus no more epoxy, have to get some tomorrow.
This pictures better shows how far the carbon layer goes, from the front opening of the coal, it’s about 23-25cm , I think it covers the cracks.
              procat12.jpg

the coal, cut off the edges, still needs a thin layer of epoxy , for the finish
              procat13.jpg

What kind of rudder and strut did you buy ?
              procat14.jpg

also I started working on the props,
              procat15.jpg

              I’ll get more time tomorrow
Once the carbon reinforcement is ready, I will need some information, on the motor mount position, the strut height, and of course all the other information that will come up

                    Have you figured out Why?
What is the setup & the circumstances of the failure. Looks like a bad one. Just so no one else does the same thing.

no idea, everything was fine 3 min, even my temps were quite colder than normal.
                      I was running 3cell zippy 4000 mah 30c with my neu 1512 2d, on a x440 .
No extra caps on esc. I think that was the problem, thank god the hull didn’t break….
Never pushed the esc more than 90 amps .
The speed control doesn’t seem to have any damage on the inside.

If you add the cap board to it, it will still work. That is unless there are other issues.

Could the batteries have been struggling to deliver the voltage required after 3 mins of running & with that current draw leading to that infamous ripple effect blowing the caps?
Someone more experienced than me will have to help you with this one.
                          All the best.

yes, that is what a person on the lake told me, but I still think it would be cautious to wait for a response from etti, either way, thank god for the *!***!***!***!**ty weather in Paris, no temptations :)
As for the cat build, got some epoxy today, will update something tomorrow

leading to that infamous ripple effect blowing the caps?
All I know is that it happened on a acceleration, actually, as soon as I pressed on the gas, the boat didn’t even start, it just blew off

                              Hello for a small update,

The epoxy I got, is min 24h which makes thing very very slow....
So I tried out the motor mount, and in my biggest surprise, the motor kuhler touches the ground
                              OSE's kuhler is a MONSTER
                              procat16.jpg
So I grabbed a second pair of epoxy plates, and added some balsa and created a carbon fiber sandwich to raise the level.
                              procat17.jpg

The only thing is that for the hatch to close and have some space, is to be positioned here:
                              procat18.jpg

Which is not bad I suppose,
                              procat19.jpg

Any comments on the best position for the motor is welcome
