I have a DF Storm, and my setup is identical to Joern's. Motor is set fwd towards the bow, batteries (lipos - 5S2P) sits back towards the transom. I don't use trim tabs, boat runs real well without them either. My stinger sits neutral. Will try and post the pic of the inside later when the wife returns the camera!

I am going to mount my motor forward also... just forward of the center of gravity. I am still trying to decide what motor mount to use with the neu 1521 as my DF storm doesn't have stringers. I'm leaning towards the one Jeff Wohlt posted.... not sure if it will accommodate the 1521 though.

Will a Neu 1521 bolt to one of these? If so, that looks like a good mount.

No and Yes...

No a 1521 will not bolt up to one of these mounts at least mine didnt, bolt spacing is to wide on the motor. so I just filed the slots on the motor mount until the holes lined up. works fine.

That sounds easy enough. Did you add anything to the front of the motor for support?

Zicha mounts is the best you can get, it is very easy to make some short stringers that you attach to the mount and then you can glue the whole assembly into your hull where you want it....

I built two ribs to support my stuff tube. Also serves as a base to screw down my plexiglass plate for my lipos.

A little trade secret that I use for my builds. Is Anchor nuts. Don't need nuts. You can get floating anchor nuts or fixed. In all sorts of shapes and sizes! Here's a link.
