El Lobo 22" stepped mono build

I picked up this Kevlar and carbon fiber boat hull about 18 months ago and have decided to build it up now.

I think I need some help from the EURO guys on setup. You can see in the pictures where I plan to place the items, this is a 2S1P boat

Plan is to place the motor forward of the front step, the esc, and Servo with the Receiver on a small shelf at the transom. This will allow me to still use the batteries to slide under the receiver and adjust forward to the motor for weight adjustment.

    a few pics

any help and thoughts are always welcome. I posted up at RRR too.

From searching the internet there is little info but from what I get from the info out there the CG should be about 1/2" forward of the front step once up on plane it should ride as a 2 point hydro. The front step as one point and the prop as the other. '

One article also mentioned that the prop should be 2 to 3" behind the transom. The weight should be mostly down the center line of the boat. So the motor up front, the batteries behind them and then the esc inline also

Ive went to a lighter servo mount and a lighter servo than usual. The esc is a 70 amp mystery watercooled and plastidipped only weights a couple of ounces. also going to try a Lehner basic XL 3100 on 7.4 should give me decent prop speed, if that does not work well I will go to a low KV outrunner and a speed trans. Then I can swing bigger props

Most articles say that you need not use trim tabs on a stepped mono. My thought is to put them in close to centerline of the transom to help with stability

My stepped H&M Streamer ran very well with the weight along the centerline and the CG between 1/4" and 3/4" ahead of the front step. You will need a large turn fin on the right edge of the transom. Stepped monos are NOT two-point hydros and they do run on both steps with the prop surfacing. I hit 44 mph in mine running a UL-1 motor on 4S with an m440 prop.

            Thanks MOM

              Thanks DAD.

If one wishes to preach junking up threads is not the place to do it, that is why we have the PM feature.

The information I was referring to was from an article by a European mono champ he said the quickest run as a 2 point hydro. I will see if I can find the article again and post a link

Man this is good stuff. How bad does it hurt to thank someone and move on instead of this attitude?

I appreciate the concern people have for us - I can use all the safety moments possible. It is easy to forget that your body can't just be overhauled like a boat hull.

Thanks Kooke, appreciate the message . I fully agree with Fluid by the way, this ain't any other forum but OFE! If this stuff is junk to you, maybe you in wrong forum?
