oh no it doesnt, i know over a dozen pro offroad world champs that will not use 2.4- they use 75mhz cause its faster with theyre high end radios.

Hate to see a thread hijacked but this should put the digi verse regular servo debate to sleep.

      Link as reccomended by futaba.

      To 6S Hydro,

Could you give me the name of one of the twelve 2009 off road champs you know that use 75mhz and why. The reason i am asking is i talked to one on the phone. I am curious as to what the names you know and what they have told you and why. Thanks much man.

If there is still debate i will let you know monday what i was told and by whom. Till then time for some skiing.

          James .

Is that the reason that we only see servo-savers on cars, and not on boats ?

Spread spectrum radio is a frequency of 2.4 billion cycles per second. This is well beyond the range of most RF.
I know over a dozen pro off-road world champs that will not use 2.4- they use 75mhz cause its faster with they're high end radios.
yes, and with high end radios, I will agree you can get equal results.(with old technology digital servos) BUT!
Those results will require 100% of the FMs radio capacity, and only a small percentage of the 2.4ghz radio.
But on the new generation of digital servos with brushless motors and with their incredible speeds. I bet you Fm doesn't get near the 2.4ghz performance in servo response .
Should I even try to site you names of world champions using 2.4ghz in any RC competition?

Ahh skiing, found out i cant make jumps on snowboards at my age, it was ugly.

Anyway about the 2.4 digital servo question, Bill from team associated gave me a link and also made the statement that ALL teams and top drivers are using 2.4 digital systems, old tech is old tech as stated.

“Futaba's 2.4GHz FASST system has all of the advantages that other synthesized systems do – but adds more, including much faster resolution!”
              – Ryan Maifield

Masami has had a signature line of 2.4 systems in china and japan for 2 years and used them until his retirement.

If you support the use of an old 27/75mhz system (digital conversion or regular analog), its because you want to, not because they are better, they have never been better than 2.4 systems and digital servos. Again, personal pref and your wallet will dictate your stance on the issue.

              @Gerwin
Servo savers are to prevent servo breakage nothing more nowadays. back then then older servos burnt out because of being in one position to long in addition to the shock of rc car steering. Do you feel Gerwin that your rudder is hammering your servos on turns or that certain throw angles cant be met? then use one, or not, its up to you nowadays. With the fixes to servos in the last three years any type of point burnout is rare.

Nothing needs a servo saver unless mechanical adjustments simply cannot be met. Even today i see folks using servo savers for throttles in gas boats, but then all of these systems are old analog systems.

ok grail, being that i was there at the cactus classic this year and competing, i personally saw the the antenna sticking out of maifields car and a antenna sticking out of his transmitter. i will dig up some pictures of the race for you. also masami may have had a 2.4 system for sale in japan- he never used it, he always used a old school stick radio on 75mhz. i will find some proof pictures for you now.
