Question on H&M micro drifter cat

OK, been talking on another thread about my 15.5" seadrifter cat. Having fun with it, but I am looking at a different style and slightly larger cat. Looking to move the current hardware to the new cat, this is for sport running only.

Options are build a WOF mystic style or buy a glass H&M micro drifter or the MHZ iceberg micro. The Drifter is about 1" longer and wider, seems about perfect for the hardware out of my seadrifter cat. Price is comparable on either. I like the building option, but wondering if I really have the time.

So, does anyone have any advice to offer on the H&M micro drifter hull and setup before I order one?

    No one!

Wow, no feed back on the H&M micro drifter cat huh?

I started laying out a mystic Cat for WOF contruction. 19" long looks pretty good, Shouldn't be too big for this power train. Keep in mind that a 19" mystic is only 17.5" fron the nose to end of sponsons. The sponsons are about the same width, but the tunnel is a little wider. So only 2" more.

The sea rider blast up on plane with a 30 or 31mm prop, also pushes a 531 prop easily on 2s. I am ordering a couple 3s-1800 mAhr turnigies to try out in this boat. Not sure how much bigger to make it, but I figure 2" longer should work for sport running if the weight is comparable.

I think a member here has one for sale on another site. TRAITER!!!! Opps, other side of the world it seems.....

I have owned both the MicroDrifter and the MHZ Iceberg. Get the MicroDrifter. I still run the Iceberg occasionally, but it is really tiny compared to the H&M hull. Lots more room in the Drifter and it should perform very well. It handles better and can run in slightly rougher water too.

        Jay :

        Sorry for interrupting, but :

        Your M-iceberg : single or twin ?

Did you change anything at the Iceberg-hull ?
I still have one the shelf, not sure if i wanna build it or sell it.
I've been thinking about making the hull a bit wider and give it a flat tunnel ( instead of the v-shape it now has)

The Iceberg hull is pure stock and runs a single Lehner 1515 with BK 70-amp Micro ESC and 0.049" wire drive. Power is 4 NiMH cells. The cat runs well around 30 mph - it still holds the IMPBA SAW record for L Tunnel at 33.4 mph. I like to run it on occasion, but it needs pretty flat water. At this speed it handles pretty well.

            Thanks.
33 mph is nice, with the stock hull that will be about the max you can do with it.
            I think I keep mine.
