What speedmaster strut and rudder are you guys using? All of the cats I have ever built used a strut with a Skeg to help the hull from spinning out but I was told this Cat works great with a extended strut. Will this one work?

For a Rudder, this one looks like it will work?

KNPC'S hatch and the reverse have given new light to that hull. Nice. I like the green and white paint.

No fancy extended strut needed or desired. IME they are only needed in any cat if the rudder has been cut too short. I ordered straight from SpeedMaster:

          - The extended strut #SPDS-009-187MR
          - The .40 rudder #103-40

On 6S you will want the robust stuff, and this is it. I don't trust the lighter weight .21-sized hardware on a boat this heavy.

Sounds good to me. I have a email into Aeromarine for the hull and will order the hardware for the build soon.

Frankly I'd call Aeromarine - they are not very good with e-mail. A quick call has always gotten me what I wanted.

One tip - best not to tell them you want the boat for FE use - when they hear that the go into "light lay-up-only" mode. I just asked for the nitro version in yellow with the Classic cowl. No problems.

Yeah I will def not say its for FE use. I also might order both the classic cowl and the turbine. I plan to cut the turbine off completely and glass in the hole.

What speeds are these hulls reaching using 6s power?

I am hoping for the upper 50's maybe lower 60's with the 1527 1Y on Hyperion G3 Lipo's....But if I can run the mid 50's for 4 min I would be real happy.

You are going with 1521 or 1527??

I have raced against Jay's SC40,, very nice running on 6s with 1527/1y.. These hulls can look really SWEET with a modified hatch... I am very impressed with KNCP's design,, really simple and sleek...
Nothing like keeping you lipos warm and your prop wet!!
