Question, did you do the bottom of the SD in 2 peices or 1? If 1 peice did you slit the front to allow for the V?--Bill

If you look carefully at the starboard side, first full stringer you can see the hole I cut for the battery.
Slot cut for stuffing tube-will tack in tomorrow and figure the motor mount.
You can see I squared off the top side stern area to better enable covering with veneer--either cherry or maple.
Will paint inside of boat-am thinking metalic bronze.
Other picture is of homemade rescue boat--doesn't look like it could, but actually gets up on plane--the kids love it. Am thinking of going to the dollar store and get some plastic soldiers to glue in it. Or maybe a naked Barbie.
DSC01945.jpgDSC01947.jpghere are some pics of my SK. I pulled a traxis mtr out of one of my cars. Way to fast. But lots of fun. I will post pics of my next idea. One of the Chris Crafts.
Great looking boat kit the Dumas SK Daddle is , it has similar lines to the Sanger flat bottomed drag boat which i owned when i was 22 ( one of the world's best powerboat manufatcurers - i reckon ) & use to waterski & drive it at Wiseman's Ferry on Sydneys Hawkesbury river ( see attachment ) , & was powered by BB Chev . Would like to build one in the future & paint it up in the colours my Sanger was in similar to attachment .....
I am building a 26" SK daddle also, directions sure sucked alright as that is how I found this place " google " search found it though. I have a big one that looks like a Dumas...only it's 4' long and looks just like my v-drive powered by a weed wacker motor also a outboard tunnel one that does 65mph..........( . )( . )..............
I ran one in the early 70 D's it would porpoise badly with the Dumas running gear . {submerged prop} It did run better with a surface setup . If I remember correctly it did not like lifting props . And you will need a skeg , without it it will skid way to much in the turns .I got rid of the boat because it could not compete with the deep V that were being raced . It would run well by it's self but in race water it just could not compete . Build it and have fun with it .
And here's a shot of it on the table....just wanted to share this!
Corey
i can`t seem to get the video to run . but that sk looks real good . my main objective for the sk is for the kids to mostly play with , it should mostly cut its own wake on glass flat water or a very slight chop .
