    Hello Lohring,

Looks great, so what is the damage for the 3d printing and the shipping costs?? Will get a check out to you as soon as you tell me.

    Thx, Mike

Lohring 3D printed this 1/4 scale corvette engine for me to use in the Crackerbox I am building, he did an outstanding job at a very fair price and I highly recommend him for any 3D printing. Check out the progress on the engine. The block has been cut down to fit under the engine hatch cover, only have so much space cause the electric brushless is right underneath the dummy engine. Still have some finess work to do on the scoop, plus the plug wires and some minor detail touchups.

Thx, am still working the details out. Hard to remember the old days and how the power plants looked compared to today's engines. Miss them days.

Latest pics on the 1/4 scale engine for my Crackerbox, also post additional pics in the gallery.20240613_132750.jpg20240613_132801.jpg20240613_132815.jpg

Lohring did a fantastic job on the 3D printing of this engine, highly recommended his services to anyone.

You did a great job with the assembly, painting, and additional details. Thanks for the complements, but I'm not in the custom 3D printing business. Your project looked like fun, but the shipping of the delicate parts was harder than the printing. Next time I'm only volunteering for projects for people who can arrange pickup.

Just don't leave it inside your vehicle or a hot place as the PLA+ will soften an loose shape. ABS would have been a better choice for print material. Looks good though.

True, but ABS doesn't print as nicely as PLA+. I've used white PLA+ on parts and they worked well at moderate temperatures in direct sun, but black definitely distorts. Paint may help, but temperature is definitely a problem with the standard 3D printer filaments. I'm trying ABS on some clips for my toolbox where PLA distorted in the sun.

Well, at any rate the boat runs great and looks fantastic in appearance. Check the following link to see the maiden voyage of "Bub's Toy" (Crackerbox) : https://youtu.be/N8T3zxrpmeA?feature=shared

I was able to check/play with the boat before a young man laid claim to the boat, wife and I know the mother and dad and this was a gift to their son, a 11 year old lad just getting into the hobby.
