I have noticed as one who is at the extremity of my life, that some members do not like the factual responses of some of the old farts. Lads, we may be old and cantankerous, but we try to help.
Danny, very true but a few old farts have been taken to task for their honesty and knowledge and I agree in your comment "It's not what you say, it's how you say it." Sometimes the brutal approach is better.

Obviously the first one. Communication is a way of expressing one's thoughts and feelings. It is in many ways, an art form. I try to read what I type and think how someone else may interpret my message. But from time to time, I may slip up. Not intentionally. Sometimes, we should practice restraint in "speaking our minds." You may get your point across, sometimes. But is it really worth alienating other forum members or making yourself look like an idiot?

As an over 50 old fart I can attest to the fact that the "factual responses" of some of the other old farts carry about as much weight as a broken down bridge and their ability to see beyond their own front porch apparently matches their own currently failing sight...

Agreed. But as we grow older, some become resistant to change. Maybe even threatened by it.
