    Video Edit Question

I was wondering what program you guys use to edit your videos. Some of the videos on here are very nice. It would be nice to add music, text, transition effects, and slow motion.

    Thanks

If you are running WinXP, MS moviemaker can be used. It's basic, but it's free.

Moviemaker did come on my laptop and I've tried it but it seems like a PITA to use and couldn't get the video to come out the way I wanted it.
I will check out finalcut. I think there are some from pinnicle also that looked good, just wanted to see what worked well before I got one. It doesn't have to be free, they seem to range in price from $40 to as much as you want to spend.

Thanks for the replies, keep them coming

FinalCut starts at $999 for the Express Full version. Upgrades are a good chunk cheaper.

Thats crazy money. There are a bunch at Staples/Best Buy for a reasonable price that I think would serve the purpose.

MovieMaker is easy as long as you can convert video format before import because it doesn't accept all of them, I use AVS or RADTools to convert/cut/resize/flip

Studio 12 is good and easy to use, but it cant handle most of the new hd video capable still cams(I tested canon, aiptek ,panasonic) . -the .mov codec they use that is.

But if you convert the .mov in to something more universal ,like xvid (using super or something else) the studio works fine after that.

And if you are happy with movie maker, and only concern is the output size/type, you can just select the dv option on mm and then convert it using the free super ( http://www.download.fi/general/downl...rsion_id=18696 ) program. -works fine and can convert the dv in any other format you like.
