I said it before and I'll say it again, the past is the past. I do see a problem with you needing to defend your current position with an argument about another entirely different issue.
But to answer your question, no I didn't question it. I'm an honest person who doesn't give a crap if you check my emails or phone calls...
Again Obama has stated things himself that have worried the masses. So what are we to believe?

Where the heck is TORT reform in all this debate???
Conveniently ignored, as Obama/US Senate sneak bills through giving tax breaks to trial attornies, etc... Another payback for campaign support??? What the $%@!???
People are upset with this "reform" because it's not addressing the causes of cost in our current system, which IS a GOOD system for a vast majority of this country... The government does NOT need to assume control of this in order to do something meaningful to fix it... Just look at what Texas has done in this regard...Darin E. Jordan - Renton, WA

or me talk about toy boats. I'm not a fan of us loosing our rights, but if it saves us from another attack I'm ok with it. But i dont think we need to start this in this thread. There is enough going on here.

Lets get down to it. We all want health care for everyone. So, PLEASE OH PLEASE tell me HOW it will be paid and not bankrupt us, and I will make the switch to a believer. Its that simple. The problem is that they wont tell us in a clear answer.
So I ask the following question.
There are an estimated 47 million people without health care. At $2400 a year per person(which is impossible with a private company at this point, its about double that). Thats 112 Billion or so each year. The other day we figured that about 90 million people pay taxes each year. Divided up evenly thats $1250 dollars per tax paying person. For you tax payers out there, are you good with this cost? And that number is figuring the government can cut the cost in half.Steven Vaccaro

I'm sorry if I come across as saying a person isn't honest if he doesn't believe in the Act. Just that I'm ok if they want to listen to me tell my wife how much I love her.or me talk about toy boats. Many hospitals claim they are losing money taking care of the uninsured and the underinsured. If everyone is covered, their profits might not be as great per person. But their loses would drop significantly. This would reduce their operational costs which inturn would reduce overall costs. I think the most expensive part of the reform will be in its implementation. After that, I think the costs would drop and profits would remain stable for the private sector. Also, if we could update the computer system and infrastructure, there could be some cost savings realized there as well.
As Darin noted, we need some type of tort reform. Perhaps a public pool for general issues. The lottery awards need to stop. It just encourages people. In the case of death because of malpractice, a capped award and a nice cell with a cellmate named Bubba for the malpracticing physician.Government Moto:

As I watch alot of the protesters on TV against healthcare reform, I ask myself why? Why, Why? Why? Half of them should be happy to have the government supplement their healthcare. It would go great with their public assistance.Government Moto:
