    The Cove

This is just horrible, you can label me a 70's liberal, But I believe humanity has out lived it's existence on planet earth...we are at war with every living organism on the planet including ourselves, but it's horrific what they are doing to these gentle souls. Growing up in the Caribbean and seeing dolphins, their spirit is so peaceful and tranquil. Following the boats and always hearing about them willing to help people in danger when they encounter them, just tragic.

"The Cove" is the true story of activists who embarked on a covert mission to penetrate a hidden cove in Japan, exposing a deadly secret.

Compassion is not a political affiliation, it's just being human. People will do anything and rationalize the reason. Whether it be right or wrong.

What bothers me more than the content of that film is the fact that it is now a feature docu-movie.
This has been going on for a looong time. I recall seeing such footage nearly 20 years ago. It was a little disturbing then as it is now.

It is easy to get emotional about the dolphins ( I do ) but we need to remember that different cultures have thier ways with different food stocks.
Ask a Hindu what he thinks of the way we use cows and eat them.
Ask a Jew about pigs, in fact ask most people about pig farming and you may be surprised.
      Ask the Inuit about seals.

My point is, as much as I can get emotional about an issue I must look at the big picture and realise that my view may not be the same as another persons.

My suggestion is that if the trailer for the film is disturbing to you then do not go and see it.
I can tell you now that I will not watch it, this is not a head in the sand approach, quite the reverse. I know it happens and I do not want to see it.

btw, you want to see what the Africans do to Rhinos and Elephants just for a bit of Tusk and Ivory. I have been there, seen it, and done a bit to level the playing field.
      See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

I am not into any type of "hunting" as such but work with a couple of guys who bring in a deer or porker occasionally. For the pot that is fair call, and I know these guys take care to get a clean shot and sort the animal fast.

What you see in Africa is Poachers and not very sporting in thier methods.

Then agian some of the methods used to "level the playing field" are not entirely within the Geneva convention or ÜN rules of engagement.
