Ha ha. It will be painted if Douggie is not busy.
You got it Andy. With a 1515 0.5Y on 3s this thing will not need winglets. It might need a smoke extractor but not much more. H&M just wanted it to look pretty but I want it to go like stink. We don't just think outside the box in Tasmania, we also think outside the boat (when we are sober). I have tried my best to destroy it, I have tried my best to sell it and now I am trying my best to build it the way H&M should have built it.
Gunna be some sponson changes too but these are top secret at the moment. Will tell ya on the blower later.

A bit more done. I am waiting on another 3 liters of epoxy and 10 meters of fiberglass cloth to finish the project.

Very interesting approach to a rigger mod.
Given that you have a rigger up at 80 I can not say too much but I think this mod may be interesting.
Not having the hull in front of me it is hard to tell. I assume that the rear booms provide enough rigidity even though they do not go all the way through. I can only surmise that there is enough hull there to hold the boom at the inboard end to create a rigid setup.

It would have been so much easier to send it over here and then I could have done all of this for you at minimal cost and tested it extensivly and then sent it back sometime after the gay world cup. Also know as the Rugby world cup.
          See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with wood

LOL. Those winglets have caused these riggers to go skywards at speeds in excess of 30 mph (a bit of an exaggeration) on many an occasion Simon. If the boat hits a bump along the way and lifts its nose then over they go. The sponsons are too wide for what I do with boats so I am going to run them through the meat slicer and narrow them down a bit also. I have thought about doing this for a long time and as I have no women, sheep or goats to chase then the boat is in big trouble. In the USA they fight on the Forums when they get cabin fever but in Oz we do obscene things to our boats. You should hear what Andy is doing to one of his old boats.

Andy, I have a garbage bin waiting if this falls to pieces at 90 mph. It is called Davy Jones' Locker.
Actually I got some more lead to keep the nose on the water. If it is going to do 90 mph it is going to need me to melt the lead and pour it into the nose and fill it right up.
This thing will enter one end of a duck and pass out the other so fast he will think he farted.
Ballistic is a name I keep coming up with to felt pen on the side. I will have to use the felt pen because the motor took all of Junes money so there is no money for stickers this time.

I would be very funny if after all this work it is the huge sponsons causing all that lift and not the wing lets. If it is use sponson fences, this will stop air bleeding of the upper inside edge of the sponson and cause more positive air pressure on the top of sponson helping with down force. And yes this does work

Those sponsons are going on a diet Andy. While I have the chainsaw going everything will get a short back and sides. Brazilian June???

Well guys the project continues. 90 mph CF sponson booms have been added. The holes left in the side from the winglet amputation have been filled with 2 beer glasses of epoxy and half a meter of FG cloth.
Sorry about leaving the hatch cover on but it has been pointed out to me that guys like Liquid, The Abdominal Snowman and some Brazilian called Jan have been coming to this thread to get a few Go Fast tips.

                          Excuse me guys... the phone.

OK back again. That was some guy from China wanting to copy my bloody boat when it is finished. I done the Aussies thing and said "how thick is your wallet?"

                          Now today's pics...

I would like to put the power plant in that old Mitsubishi my masterpiece is sitting on and the sheet would be handy for cleaning the boat but I think the Barbarian from Broke Back Hill has other plans. He said the guy on the bike done that trick the easy way. Andy is going to use the bike to put the sheet back under the things on the table

These pictures are brought to you before the undercoat even dries. I shot a quick undercoat over the area I am working on to bring out the imperfections in my work so I can fill and sand again. I can see that the red that is on the nose is going to cause me problems as it has a reaction with the undercoat. I guess I will have to sand the red completely off.
