I got lucky finding this message. I hardly ever visit OSE any more due to support on RCG for the DX8. Please e-mail me andy@[deleted] or andy@[deleted] in the future.

Spektrum receivers do not send any signal to the ESC until it connects to the transmitter (ie, finds the frequency(ies) in use by the tx). This is a failsafe operation, preventing it from accidentally arming an ESC when it should not be armed. We do this on ALL our receivers (Air, Marine, and Surface), and have since the beginning and it will not be changed since it is a primary safety functionality.

    Andy

    Spektrum Development Team

I have made comment to hasten the recognition and activation would perhaps solve this dilemma.
    Waiting for return.

???? .. not with Spektrum, according to millzee.

Spektrum with Rx pack to a Sf240HV is puzzling.. as that bypasses the Spektrum recognition and activation delay issues....but he still faces this <100% problem.

            From Andy:

Connect the rx as you normally would. This would cause the delay to occur. Now, power it down, then apply power again. This will cause the rx to immediately check the last channel(s) first, causing it to immediately find the transmitter.

The way I see it, it is a Spektrum radio problem. Andy Kunz is telling us it is built in as part of the fail safe so motors do not fire up accidentally. It could be a pain in the a$$ to a greenhorn or someone that did not have access to a forum such as this one. Steven obviously has never had the problem. I have only had it twice. Anyway now we have 3 workarounds for the issue and few people seem to experience it. I like the idea that it is built in and I like Andy's workaround. I will not be moving away from Spektrum in a hurry as I find them easy to program and the telemetry and the "drop them in your beer" receivers are two great +'s IMO.

                Edited in...
To be truthful, I always try some Throttle Travel on any of my setups just to see if I can squeeze another mph out of them. This is always done carefully so as to make sure the motors shut down with zero throttle. I never presume the radio has found full throttle. Sometimes I get a pleasant surprise.

What are the silicone hoses going to the stingers for? Perhaps the way you are going to apply the Wet Stuff to lube her up!!!

The pictures show just how bad the gel coat finish is on that hull.
                    Where are AM hulls made?
Even DF clone hulls have a good gel coat. The quality control guy must have been at the doctors the day they packed that hull.

All I can say after just one test of your old Maritimo and a check of your workmanship on that hull is that this hull is gunna (I know you love bad spelling and slang Douggie) fly and be as strong as a brick out house.
