Doh. I was more referring to Dougie You know I still love you all, but not in that way.

It's weird how far ahead rc cars are, even down to the mechinical timing on the motors with ability to add timing in 2 degrees increments up to 40 degrees on some brands of motors. Btw could you run a car motor in mairne? Or a car esc?

I guess it is not a secret that Dr W sold me a pussy, namely a H & M Maritimo pussy. I took it to the lake this morning for the first time and came home with a big smile on my face. I did not get full throttle because the Swordfish 120 esc's do not pick up full throttle on a Spektrum radio correctly. To overcome that problem I was increasing the throttle travel each time I sent the boat out. Dr W explained to me how to fix the problem in a better way.
Setup is 2 x Castle 1512 motors, 2 x Swordfish 120 esc's, 6s1p lipo and 2 X442 counter rotating props. Speed was 101 kph or 62.75 mph and climbing as I increased the throttle travel. Dr W has seen 88 mph with this boat so I am expecting big things.

where's the waterproofing white tape back right corner covering the engine mount access hole ?
umm, if you missed that arse hole on the rear, did you seal the antenna hole near the plugs ?

looking at orientation the gps Vs dukfuka decal, .. the gps is facing backwards !
            101kmh backwards is impressive, m8 !

Took the tape off to save weight Nah I had to tighten the motor mount bolts on that side. I used OSE hatch tape to cover the hole. Antenna hole sealed. Boat sat in the water for more than 30 minutes (waiting for the wind to blow it across the lake after the esc leads came off the receiver) and was as dry as Andy's whisky bottle on a Saturday morning.

Can not paint... wrong. This will be a future job although it will not be as nice as a Canadian HPR 130 (+ or - 5) that had it's pictures on OSE today. That is one beautiful boat.

Can you tell what the fix was toi this? I exclusively use Spektrum and have never come to see this problem.

3 spektrum dx setups I know have this issue...ezessperated, millzee, and larry(not here )
All use SF esc with bec.
This maritimo had no problems with 3PK Faast.

edited: not sure delay before spektrum Rx sends data to client/servo after powerup+bind , but SF scripts have 1.5 sec delay between powerup and Th high is set ... and tones sound

shortcut is to hold Tx Th at 75% when calibrating esc.. allows for 100+% for wot.

Wayne, if the bec is removed may that resolve this issue with this ESC.

Steven, I have used Spektrum for about 2 years now and in all that time I have only ever had this happen 1 other time and that was with my YGE Navy 200. On that occasion I used the Throttle Travel solution also. You do have to be careful using this method or you can end up with motors that do not completely shut down. I have never had the problem with any of at least a dozen CC Barracuda or Hydra esc's. It is not something that would stop me buying either Spektrum or Hifei products. To me this is not a biggie because there are 2 workaround methods to fix the problem.

Douggie, I will try using an external pack sometime.

Doc W, were larry and millzee also using twin motors, twin esc's?

I am using the sf240 in a df35 pirate(single), the esc has no internal bec, I've used a rx pack from day 1. I too have the throttle travel up around the 150 mark and it's helped the issue.

I'm still playing with the tuning but so Far the fastest I remember seeing on the gps is 98kph, it's got more in it, I just need to learn how to get it out. It'll run at mostly full throttle input for about 5-6minutes b4 the lvc kicks in and temps stay within the safety limits
