Andy,
You know what the pics below are about so I will say no more.
I have been busy Packing pool noodles in the new hull

Seeing as there is only one of those longish shiney things I can only surmise that this is for a mono. Best of luck there, as I had fark all of it with my venture into the mono world.
I am now about to "repair" the hull..................with a CAT.
I will shove the 7xl and a 440/3 in a cat and see how it likes that.
I will say this based on this data / observations
A 7XL with a 637, 440 and a 640 could not get my mono to do any outrageous speeds above 70 kmh.
When I put the 440/3 on there it was an animal and commited suicide.
The hook up was a bit slower than with the 2 bladers but the power was mad.
This combo just has to go into a Cat that will be very carefully built so that a pair of L cans can go in at a later date.
One last piece of my build philosophy. I can produce a hull for about the same price as a ***tery ESC.
If I kept pushing the mono it would cost me that for that reason.
I'have a Cat ( components) on the build and will post up a thread as soon as I have decided on a length and therefore the width.
Yes I can start building without knowing the final measurements.
Back to the normal program now.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with woodComment

Andy,
A little work was done today as the picture shows you. I hope to find time tomorrow to get the stuffing tube and engine mount glued in place. The hole for the stuffing tube has been drilled so I just have to get it all aligned and then mix the epoxy and start throwing that about a bit.

It is not a secret, I am building a DF 33.
I had read about your mono and feel sorry for you. I did not comment on your thread as I tend to hijack things a bit so I save my nonsense for here.
Good luck with the cat.

You, above many, have shown an ability to contribute to a technical discussion.
I will always value your input to any of my builds or design discussions, this is what a forum is about.
I know that I once got cranky about a bit of (o/t) banter on one thread and I will still do so, I like to keep things clear and on topic.
Matt, Graham and I still do the same to each other on threads. As long as it is on topic ( or really close ) most folk are keen.
Some folk just have a limited sense of humour and some have none at all.
I'll do a nice Cat and it wil be for visual pleasure. I now have most of my speed targets in the bag.
There is still possibly a 7S on its way to me that will go in the small rigger for some real fun.
The new Cat will have some unusual build features and some neat hardware when I get it sorted.
Take care Paddy, and stay healthy.See it....find the photos.....sketch it it....build it........with woodComment

What do you think of this ...Attached FilesIMPBA 20481S D-12Comment

Ozzie I wonder if your mother did some arm wrestling as she sounds like the woman that almost took the Champion Tasmanian Arm Wrestling Belt from me. It took 6 bouncers to throw her out of the hotel. She sure Packed a punch.Several boats in various stages of destructionComment

Maybe a Football or two and a picture of captain Nick Riewoldt in a prominent place would be good.
