    Microsoft Windows 7

Now, here is a comedy in motion. Microsoft announce WINDOWS 7. They have barely fixed XP problems....Vista
This will be very interesting in these economic times.

Windows 7 is what vista should have been an much more stable and polished operation system
Running xp myself though my daughters computer is running vista with no problems.

I will definately be in line for windows 7 when it comes out.

Jim, I am no computer expert, in fact I am a real newbie, but from what I have learnt is that all Microsoft operating systems are compatabile with the original system and that is their problem. I use XP and my son stated when I was buying a new Dell system with a lot of Dell guys stating Vista is the way to go.. he said dad buy a MAC. I ignored his advice and bought a Dell XP with business software and I was lucky as they discontinued XP the next month. Microsoft operating systems????

You are correct in that they made things backwards compatible. This system they are eliminating a bunch of that code and from what I hear it is light years better than anything they have put out.
Here is an example you can run Windows 7 on one of the low powered netbooks and it runs great.

I've been running W7 for about 5 months...It's definitely no Windows Me... It's probably one of their better Os, it's less a resource hog as is Vista (Vista sucks both 32 and 64)... I run both 64 bit versions Vista and W7...I actually Like W7, a first for anything Microsoft.

I was referring to Vista being the ME, seeing as ME and 2000 came out within about a year of each other?

Gotcha, you are correct..they did shadow the Os's. Windows ME stood for Major Error... The worst waste of resources I've ever seen.

Windows ME and Windows 2000 Professional cannot even be compared to one another.

WinME was still Windows 95/98 code, and Windows 2000 Pro was largely Windows NT code. NT was virtually bulletproof by the end of the '90's.

HUGE difference. The difference in how well each OS worked proves it.

I have been using XP Pro for quite some time and don't plan on changing as I can completely rebuild my PC and Reload without having to call MS and be put on hold to reset the OS.
