Caller ID Spoofing Sucks!

A telemarketer calls you, but on the Caller ID they put in some other company.

I tell you from experience, it sucks to be the business who's Caller ID info they are using

Skype has allowed that for a long, long time.

Worst part is, it's basically long distance for free.

Get yourself an unlisted number and put it on the DO NOT CALL registry. Then it costs them $1500 to call you :)

There's nothing I can do. It's our main business line that these people are using. That means that they make all these calls in the day and I get all of the hate calls back. I have to try to explain to each person that we did not call them.

I've been in the office for 40 mins. I've received 15 calls and cleared 40 messages off of our voicemail.

I'm still waiting for someone to talk to me long enough to get them to check their phone bill. That way I can try to figure out where the calls are originating from, but until then, my company is the real victim. So you've received a couple calls on your phone, it's nothing compared to the time lost dealing with all of the incoming phone calls to the party who's information was spoofed.

Sounds like you need a good lawyer to go after some wire fraud!

Perfectly legal under current laws, that's the part that sucks.
