    Tapping your cell phone

A brave new world where nothing will be private... better limit your enemies, because they might be listening!

Bloody hell, that is very invasive and you would think manufaturers would make this impossible.

Simple solution, don't get a cell phone. Why do we as a people think we are that important that we have to be able to be contacted 24 hrs a day, How did anyone ever survive before cell phones?????

I have one, and its for emergency use only. Not mindlessly talking to everyone else about things that no one else really cares about.

Many of us need them for work - I need to be accessible 24/7. They have revolutionized many businesses by an order of magnitude with productivity and safety. They also make auto travel a lot safer.

We all got along without the telephone for years too - but I'd hate to go back to the telegraph. Like it or not, cells are part of the entire world's culture. I travel extensively and I see more cell phone use in Latin America than in the US. Last week in Oman I saw a guy on a camel using his cell......

No offence, but railing against cell phone use is, well, reactionary. Particularly since you have one "for emergency use only". That just means a cheap, low-minute plan. :)

We got along well without them, we would learn to again if we wanted. Being in touch 24/7 especially for a buisness is also a double edge sword, Sure more productivity but at a cost of family time, stress etc.

            That is scary stuff.

Well my pappa always said" don't say or write, photograph, or film anything you would not want someone else to see or hear!" I guess that common sense applies here.
