Yeah tim it's one of my places.
I'm fortunate to have two state parks both with big beautiful lakes on them within a mile of my house.
Next time out I'll snap some photos.
New England is a gorgeous place outside all the development.
If the planning committees had it their way I'm sure they would bulldoze everything to put in more taxpayer living quarters.
Luckily some things they can't destroy.

      Aiden,
great looking Cannondale you have there. Years ago, I bought a new Cannondale back when they were still hand made in the USA. I got a hard tail F400 because I couldn't afford the full suspension models. Recently, I found one, a 95 Cannondale Super V700 in need of restoration, so I bought it cheap. This is still one the Hand made in the USA frames, you can tell by the attention and care put into the frame welds. I Got a dual crown Rockshox Boxxer race fork and had them both powder coated. Slowly I restored the bike, built and laced the wheels myself. Each wheel has alternating Black spokes with silver nipples and silver spokes with black nipples. I used Jagwire cables and a Risse racing new rear shock.
I proudly took her into the bike shop to show her to a friend, and they had a Specialized Fatboy sitting on the floor. It was now over for the Cannondale before it even began.

I now own a Specialized Fatboy SE that I installed Jagwire cables on, and a Rockshox Bluto fork with a Hope Fatsno front hub. I installed 3M reflective tape for my rim strips too. I need to lengthen my front brake cable because the bluto is longer than my rigid fork I removed, and I need to cut the fork steer tube.

Cannondale that will now be for sale

      Fatboy before the Bluto

      Fatboy so far...

I'll try to snap a pick of the Stump before I hit the road for Atlanta. It's covered in Raceface gear. It's a pretty sweet ride.

I have so many bike horror stories. They date back to childhood. At least one include riding on ice. DOH! There was one that included toes and spokes. Not mine that time. Toes are tougher than you would think. Who rides bare foot? Idiot.

One of my buddies and I use to say "If it's got wheels, we can ride it." Bikes, skateboards, quad skates, in lines. We even rode unicycles. On and even off road. Dorks. We built a chopper with 46" forks, a steering wheel, and a 16" front wheel. So fun. Maybe 1981. We were just kids.

The meeting between me and the tree changed my riding perspective forever. Suddenly I was mortal.......and I have responsibilities.........and kids.......and.......and.....um....people depend on me. haha It was the first time I felt that way. 17 mile trail ride. The trail is/was essentially a one way trail. Supposed to be. There's nobody regulating it or anything but if you go the other way your going to get hit in the face by someone bashing down into a valley so nobody tries. About 4 miles in I hit a tree pretty hard. Busted up my helmet pretty good. Bloody face etc. That's a tough look BTW. haha In hind sight I probably had a concussion. Splains a lot don't it? We rode on the remaining 13 miles. The climb out of the valley was a bastard with a pulsing headache.

I never felt confident on a bike again. I can still ride of course but I never got back in the zone. Where you trust the bike like it's part of you. Riders will know what I mean.

So wear your helmet and be aware.

Couple months ago the wife and I decide to go mountain biking. There's some trails in my grandparents neighborhood I used to ride as a kid. Brec took them over and now they are wore out, rutted Mountain bike trails. Anyway, my wife was having a time keeping up. She was sitting the whole time and there hills, bridges and slopes all over. Well we were talking and I was telling her what she needed up do to keep up better. I'm going up a 6-8ft hill, standing up and looking back at her.... I'm saying "if you stand u"....(p) and at that point before I can get the word up out my mouth I hit a big root, went over the handle bars.....with the back wheel in the air I rode backwards back down the hill on the from wheel falling and landed on my shoulder on a tree stump. It still hurts as I type this. Ugh. Funny afterwards tho!

It's like Facebook for riding and running.

                    The app is killer bro.
You can just hit record and it will record your path on Google maps, record how far you go, the time it takes, the elevation, calories burned etc... Then when you stop it, you can post the entire recorded data to your page.
It's killer. No need for garmin

There are tons of other awesome features as well....
I'll be awaiting your friend request :Yesway:

Isn't it great when your wife has an actual reason to tell you that you're an idiot? Besides the regular stuff I mean.

                        Nice bikes!
I once ran into a neighbor's mailbox, AKA: The Sheriff's brick mailbox...... Happened on my old RedLine. Lost 1.5 teeth.
I never did the mountain biking but I used to make my bikes fly.

Wait, I also face planted in the ditch, nutted myself and more than likely have been on the wrong side of the handle bars a few times.

Not once did I ever have an issue with my motor dirt bikes.

Still have all the original bones!!!
Why are you bothering me? I want to see your boat!

                          9.6 miles in terrain today.
I went out with more experienced riders.
