No perception of history. Major shifts in aircraft technology, like the F-35, are typically beset with myriad problems. Other examples are the F-100, F-105, F-111 and the F-15. Even the original sainted P-51 was a turd until it was repowered. Lessons learned were applied to subsequent aircraft resulting in world-dominating fighters. The cost of freedom is not free.
