    Mac Hodges B29 and X1

Saw this in person this past weekend at the race at Hodges Hobbies in Andersonville Ga. She has a 20' wingspan and is VERY impressive.

Mac flies his latest world famous B-29 Bomber at his 4th Annual Hodges Hobbies "All Electric Event" on Saturday 26 Sept 2009 at his field in Andersonville…

How many people does it take to fly it?

There are two that fly it (1 for the B29 & 1 for the X1) and they each have a spotter. So 4 total.

The AMA has a good safety record. They ensure the guys are flying well beyond the spectator area. I was surfing for a YouTube video and it seems Mr. Hodges has had a few accidents with that aircraft over the years. That bird was no shelf queen. He definitely fly's them like he stole 'em (as I'm sure you have witnessed Doug). Gotta admire that. I'm sure he'll have that bird back up and running in no time.

Good luck at the Grand Prix this weekend. Sorry I couldn't make it.

I think this was the third B29.

                Thanks,
I had to hook up a new guy with some boats for the GP and borrowed a O/B tunnel so that class would make. All of the classes are hurting.
Wish you and John could have made it but I certainly understand.

Great video. Sorry the great run ended on a down note.

You know, I'm just not a fan of current servo plugs and I think and new standard needs to be developed. They need to be a little more secure and with more contact area. Just my 2cents.
