well, in a way. i was leaving anyways.
ive been painting cars at this particular shop for a little over a month. in that time, it is as much of a trial period for me as it is for them. i performed as promised, they did not.
these people seem to drive away painters, and i found out first hand why….
in any event, i got tired of the ridiculous expectations quick and went out and got 2 other offers, for more money, and better health benefits. well i accepted on one this morning, so i went to work and notified them of my plans… as you can imagine they didnt take it well. i offered to stay and finish out the week, but they told me to forget it and leave lol. considering im the only painter they got… what kind of decision is that? idiots.
well… the son can paint, but not very well, and theyve got him in the office dealing with the managment tasks, so now hes got to paint and they lose him in the office… either way, stupid.
just thought i would share. i dunno why business's think once youre on the books, they own you, and you have to kiss their . im making the money to pay you and me…. without me, you dont get paid either.

I was at a company for 5 years when I gave notice. When I started there were 5 in the maintenance department and when I left I had been the only one for about a year. I don't complain as the way I see it if I am not happy I go find another job - they find out when I give notice. Sometimes they ask what it will take for me to stay and my response is that it's to late for that now.

sometimes they try to make a counter offer. in my case they did not
i suppose its because of the short period of time i was actually there. but realistically they didnt get a chance. my mind was already made up, as you stated, too late for that! lol

Like I said, I start a new job next week anyways... Just seems silly for them to not use me for the week

I did it right. I got money in the bank, another paycheck coming, bills paid, and new job next week. I offered myself to finish out the time.... I'm fine, they're not lol. Oh well
